For all the Patriot Haters out there.. let it go?

http://community.foxsports.com/blogs/TORCH511/2007...

Fact: The Patriots didn't "CHEAT" as so many of you think...

Fact: The NY Jets (Yes the team that had the problem with the camera) were guilty of the SAME ACT last year with no penalties.

Now, armed with facts, will you finally let the spygate issue go?

for all of the people defending the Patriots from the Patriot Haters

    let it go

but to answer your question: I'm not a hater, so I've already let it go

Uh.. FACT, this was an op ed. meaning an opinion that did NOT OFFER any facts. Its simply offered stats to support a theory... A theory that has merit but does NOT have hard facts to support the theory. One could argue that without the tapes the Patriots may have performed even worse during the second half of those games... Its as good an argument as the former.

I do however appreciate the link because I enjoyed the article. I agreed with most of articles nuts and bolts. The tapes provided little benefit to the Patriots during the past 6 season. The Patriots were legitimate Champions and did not need those tapes, but they had 'em just in case.

That fact alone does not absolve the Patriots, sorry. The Patriots knew the rules, they had been provided a memo stating such rules and they simply ignored it. To say they broke the rules in hopes of getting caught and keeping other teams from doing the same is a HUGE leap of FAITH that I am not willing to take. That is simply comical.

If the Patriots win the Super Bowl this season there should be no dark cloud surrounding it, but there will be. Its something they brought or Belicheck brought upon his team. Don't blame the Jets, don't blame other teams, don't blame the media or other teams fans. Blame your selves, blame your coach and take your medicine like an adult.

Wow! Let me give you two tips 1) Putting the word "Fact" in front of something doesn't necessarily make it one. 2) Blogs are not a good source to back up an argument. Most writers know the advantage to writing a "blog style" piece is you don't have to back up what you say, because it is inherently an opinion form of writing.

Here's a better question: Why does it bother you so much that people hate the Patriots? I was a Patriot Hater way before the cheating and there isn't anything they can do or the fans can say that will change that. Maybe you should stop confusing hating with lack of respect, because a lot of the "haters" certain respect what the team is capable of on the field.

P.S. Most people have let it go, why don't you try it?

fact: if they don't cheat then why were they caught cheating

even though they got a flimsy punishment.

how are Patriots fans say they don't care about what people think, and then write questions saying let it go.

READ MY QUESTIONS ABOUT IT AND SEE WHAT PATS FANS SAID.

How are they still going to be cocky and arrogant and be the worst fans in the NFL, I would think that would have humbled them a bit and if it hasn't then people should rub it in their faces that they are supporting cheaters until it does humble them.

I think Patriots fans have the worst sportsmanship of any fan in the NFL, they talk trash even though most of their accomplishments weren't even won honestly and really don't mean anything to anyone who isn't a Patriots fan.

I'm sorry you're fans were never taught right from wrong or good swordsmanship but until they stop acting like ******* or the fans take some sort of responsibility I will keep calling you cheaters for a long time.

I'm against cheaters and if the Pats fans were and actually thought it was wrong it wouldn't be everyone picking on the Patriots, they would say they were very classy in the way they handled it, but no they have to make excuses and so now the Patriots fans will always be known for looking the other way when their team cheated.

Source(s): this is only for the real cocky arrogant fans on here I'm sure there are fans who are embarrased by this incident and aren't ignoring right and wrong.

Is this even a question?! I read this as just another band-wagon Patriots fan, who couldn't name a single starter from the '86 squad (that got completely dismantled by the Bears), or the '97 squad (another Super Bowl loss for the Pats) that now feels violated b/c there's ill press surrounding what they thought was a can't-miss winner.

My question back to you is, who's your squad after Brady's "cute" grill gets jacked up, the Pat's obnoxious winning streak ends, or the ills of being "america's team" befall the organization.

Don't come to Dallas. We've got enough of your kind already.

I think football fans hate the Patriots for the same reason baseball fans hate the Yankees. They're a well-established team with a lot of money that seems undefeatable. A lot of it is also jealousy. They'll look for any reason to discredit the Pats simply because they can't stand that they're so good.

As a Lions fan, I have no problem admitting that.

The fact of things were that it wasn't cheating now matter which way you look at it because i don't think there is one coach in the NFL that hasn't tried to steal signals or used a different method to gain a competitive edge over the opponent.

I'm sure Bill was just trying anything for his team to win, so good for him.

Speaking of letting things go. SHUT UP! You guys post this question /rant 65764646464646464646464646464646464646464684646846468464684646464054484014450448486+446454453456675786778768754532634354433240232342541461420232332303303 times and it is all the same gibberish. Come up with something new or STFU! I am tired of hearing you chatterboxes yapping about the same 10 things.

  • No one has hit the Pats like the Steelers will. That team hits you until you quit. Just wait... undefeated is far from given to them yet!

Your Question is a good one and you are right.

The issue has become a silly joke. Violating NFL sideline procedure rules that govern the means by which opposing teams video tape each other should never have been described as "Cheating"

Check this out about the SF 49'rs. http://www.sportslawnews.com/archive/Articles%2020...

They violated NFL salary cap rules and carried players that they couldn't afford on their S-Bowl dynasty teams. I don't hear anybody clamoring to kick Joe Montana and the late Bill Walsh out of the hall of fame or put asterisks next to their S-Bowl wins
