    Here's an easy side-by-side comparison:

Someone mentioned that Siberians have blue eyes, and Malamutes do not. While Siberians *can* have blue eyes, this is not always the case.

The easiest physical difference to see is size: A well-bred Siberian will be 35-65 pounds, and athletic; A well-bred Malamute will be around 85 lbs., with a stocky/massive body.

A siberian Husky will be smaller, his ears will be closer set and the main difference is the eyes. A Husky will have piercing (usually blue) eyes. A malamute will be larger, thicker boned, softer facial features. A true malamute will be big in the body but not too long in the legs, also, a malamute DOES NOT have blue eyes.

The Alaskan Malamute changed into once on the starting up bred through way of an Alaskan tribe referred to as Mahlemuts or Malemuit for hauling sleds. The domestic dog is the oldest known interior sight Alaskan breed. It has a thick, coarse outer coat, a woolly gray or black and white undercoat, and a hairy tail carried best. The husky were given right here from Siberia about one hundred years contained in the previous. It changed into once used as a sled domestic dog, watchdog, and domestic dog. that is specially smaller than the malamute and has a gentle, thick undercoat, and the outercoat is gentle, tender hair having a extra positive look than the shaggy look of the Malamute. The husky is specially gray, black, or tan, and ought to have endless markings, certainly about the proper. The domestic dog oftentimes has one blue and one brown eye, and has a hairy tail that trails at the same time as it really is operating and is held up in a curve at the same time as alert. both Malamutes and Huskies have a white face and a black foreheadhowever a huskey has the vacation between white and black interior the fashion of an up-element-down U (the large majority of this vacation is white) in which as a malamutes' vacation is a perfect-element-up U (the large majority of this vacation is black).

There are several differences but the two major ones would be:

Size... the Malamute is built for endurance rather than speed so it is a larger, more muscular breed. They are usually around twice the size and weight of their cousin the Huskey.

Eyes: Huskeys can have both blue or brown (or both) eyes. Malamutes can only have brown eyes.

I hope that this helps you a tad.

Malamutes are MUCH bigger than Huskies. The one I know of is 125 lbs and most Huskies are around 40-50 lbs I think.
