I did not know... did you?

I found another video... sorry. But it is interesting to find out the USDA's guidelines for housing dogs. Further reasons why the laws need to be changed.

I would like to know what it would actually take to change the laws on this.

Every animal I have owned has been a rescue of some type. I don't know why people have to get them from pet stores. I even have a pure breed Lhasa Apso that I rescued.

On one hand, I don't want to support the puppy mills, but then I don't want the ones who are already here to suffer either. It is so sad. What will happen to the puppies in pet shops if people stop buying them? I know it will eventually put the mills out of business but until it does, what about the ones stuck for months waiting to be bought?

I actually have gone to a local pet store just to play with the puppies. I feel so bad that they are stuck in those cages all day. I normally ask which ones haven't been out for the day and play with them. They know me and they know I am not buying, I am just playing and luckily they have never given me any problem about playing with them.

And after seeing all of this, people will still go and buy from a pet store, then ignorantly breed their dog and sell the puppies to other people who will then realize they can't care for the dogs and give the puppies over to a puppy miller.

And the cycle starts all over again.

This needs to change. How can people be this cruel? I really don't get it. Money will never make me do anything close to this. I ENJOY not being rich.

I have dial up and couldn't view the video. Took much too long to load. USDA is as bad as the puppymills it is supposed to regulate. USDA, puppymills and pet stores are all hand in hand partners in the crimes against the dog undudstry. It is so sad and deplorable.

I wish I could use my pup as a example of what backyard breeders turn out as dogs, It is so very sad. This little gal I have will never be so called normal. She has so many issues and trust problems.

Is getting better after 2 years in my home of just getting loved. When I first got her she would not go out the front door, when I walked her she would belly crawl the whole way, heartbreaking. She now walks and you can almost see she has a tail and does try to meet people without getting sick. If I scolded her she would vomit. Life is better for her now we have gone to training classes to boost her confidence, funny through all that she is a sweet sweet dog and has never bite in fear, amazing.

Before you all get after me, I did not by her from the puppy mill she was kicked out of one home because she would not go into heat, thank god, would be a poor example of the breed mentally, the next home we don't know why she was kicked out but they were going to harm her if not out of their house immediatly, my friend in rescue called at asked if I could take her for the weekend and I could not abandon her again, she attached herself to me and my grand daughter that quick. I have tried to get the mill closed but they are just inside the law. This state is so backwards but some of us are trying to get people in office to help. Please, all of you write letters to your congress men, mayors and send them links.

It does help. Sorry to go on like that.

I couldn't even finish watching it. made me too mad. I don't know why people would buy from places like that. Find a good breeder that lives close and in a place you can visit anytime. Or adopt an unwanted pet

Thanks for sharing. It's very sickening. I can't even imagine any dogs live in this kind of environment. We should forward this video link to whoever we know.

That is heartbreaking. I had no idea. I'd never let my dog near a place like that.

    It made me cry. :(
