EMT and medical assistant are diffrent in scope and purpose.
EMT is tactical takes control, does life preserving measures and sometimes loads and goes with the patient.
Medical Assts control the flow of patients in a doctors office, add pay codes for insurance, X-ray, draw blood, and carry out other functions under a doctor or nurses license.
The courses are usually very diffrent. and there are usually 2 or more levels of training which translate to more money.

No they are all different. EMTs answer emergency calls in ambulances. I'm not sure what Med Techs do, possibly lab work, and Medical Assistants are the people who escort you to the exam room, take your height, weight, temp, etc. You need to take indivually planned courses for each one.
