Aren't we all interested in people of our own peer group? Do Baptists route for Huckabee (sp)?

I think I pay attention to Mormons who make news; some I like and others I do not.

I am Conservative so I like Romney but not Reid; I never liked the Osmond's but always thought Marie was cute.

So I may have a pro-Mormon bias but most of the time if there is a better show or candidate I will choose the non-Mormon (all things being equal I might choose the Mormon).

1. Vote for Mitt Romney (R) because he is LDS?- Not sure if I will vote for him or not- but if I do it will be because he is the best man for the job and not because of religion.

2. Vote for Harry Reid (D) because he is LDS? Don't get me started on him, but even if I did live in his state I would not vote for him.

3. Vote for Marie Osmond’s dancing because she is LDS? Yeah why not? that and her outfits aren't skanky.

4. Watch Glenn Beck because he is LDS? Actually I listened to him long before I knew he was LDS- that is just a plus.

5. Watch Aaron Eckhart movies because he is LDS? Who is he?

6. Watch the old version of Battle Star Galactica because Glenn A. Larson is LDS? Never been into that.

Not just because they are LDS, no. I don't like Harry Reid's politics and I would never vote for him. Mitt, I will. Marie should have been off the dancing show some time ago. She is not the dancer that the others are. As for the other people, I don't even know them. However, I liked the Battlestar Galactica in its original form. Yes, there were some possible gospel overtones in the story but that is true of many story lines. It was a good show, period.

Harry reid gives the church a bad name, it is an embarasement that he is a member of the lds church.

I'd rather not have people know that one. Harry reid is a mess both in his politics and personal life.

I don't think we block vote anymore. We probably used to, back in the 1800's and maybe early 1900's, but now I don't see the point in it. Everyone is free to vote how and for whom they want. The fact that someone is LDS doesn't matter to me. I know of several LDS members who've decided to not vote for Mitt - it's not because he's LDS, it's because they don't agree with his politics.

Because they're LDS I may actually stop and hear what they have to say, but if they're acting like a royal dufus then I ignore them just like I would if they were not members. And if they aren't acting like a royal dufus then if I continue to listen to them it's because I like what they are saying/doing/etc, not because they are LDS.

Being LDS only gets my attention, keeping it is a different story.
