Is prayer (asking for a Saint's intercession) the same as veneration?

    You wouldn't pray to saints, if you didn't venerated them.

    Yes, you are to not pray to anyone but God. Saints are no one but average human beings just like you and I . A SAINT is a person who is saved and part of the family of God. to pray to a saint would be worshiping (idolatry) of a saint/person or thing.
