My meat smells bad and has a green spot but I just bought it..is it bad to cook it??

I just bought some meat and for the first time, the meat that I just bought has a green spot, and when I opened the package, a horrible smell appeared!!

It smells really bad and it expires on Dec. 6!! Should I cook it??

Update:

Thank you all for the answers..I will return it tomorrow since I spent $6 on it.

We'll see what they say...

No, return it to the store. It may have been placed on a shelf , rotted and placed back in the cold box at the store. It is also possible that the store re dated the meat. Take it back. Do not eat it .

No, don't cook it, it is obviously rotten. I would take it back to the store and tell them that you want a refund, or some new meat.

No way, that sounds like a case of ecoli coming if you do.

Take it back and get a refund on it.

I always check my meats very careful because of e coli

No, the smell is the biggest clue. It's gone bad. Meat sometimes will discolor, but if it smells...don't cook or eat it.

No, take it back to the store where you bought it and get a refund.

If you want one of several food borne illnesses go ahead and eat it. Personally, I'd take it to a dumpster far, far away and dispose of it.

you know here is the scoop. when you take it back insist on a refund not exchange. take money elsewhere. that's bad. good luck.

Of course not. Call the store and complain and they will exchange it for you.
