I need some good idea's for Christmas day?

why don't you relax and go with the flow? there is a great deal to be said for spontanaety. when you plan things down to the letter the way you are apparently trying to do, you set yourself up for disappointment and frustration. You don't know that your boyfriend will show up, so don't plan on him being there, if he is it's a bonus, if he isn't and you've made plans you will just be unhappy (see the set up?) As for not wanting your mother around? what is Christmas for, if not family? I assume she is the only mother you have? this might be the perfect opportunity to try getting on a better footing with her. So head off an all day visit, invite her over for breakfast and gift opening, but then make it clear to her that you and the kids have other plans for the afternoon, can be simple as going to the park or a movie... but it's time you make clear is for you and the boys alone. Just be pleasant, a spend a few hours with her....you may actually reap some rewards from the effort.

Good. First, if you don't mind me sharing, let me say you don't need the apostrophe in ideas. The s alone is enough for the plural, and if you put the apostrophe you change the meaning to "belonging to the idea." O.K.?

And I think you meant to say "I need some idea what" not "want" but then again I think you do WANT to do something. So now I think some of us might be able to help you:

Maybe you could organize a game of "blind man's bluff" or "pin the tail on the donkey." Also, a game of twister might be fun. Or maybe of trivial pursuit, or a board game like parchesi, monopoly, scrabble, or some such activity. Also a movie is not a bad idea, something you think is appropriate, but you could present some choice so people feel like they have a say in the matter.

For supper you could do a food that you know the boys or men like. Or you could order take-out or delivery if such a thing is available in your area.

What traditions did you get from your mother or father? From my mother we learned to bake a ring cake. We would put a little baby figure representing Jesus into the cake, before baking it, so some one would find it in their slice. Whoever got the slice had to bake the next cake.

Why not invite your mom over for a pancake breakfast, let the kids open their gifts, let them play for a little while, put a ham in the oven for dinner, make a ginger bread house (they have kits at Walmart for about $8.00 with everything you need in it), eat dinner, have the kids pick up their toys and line them up in their bedrooms- so when they wake up they can see all their gifts again, put the kids to bed an hour earlier than usual, and spend a romantic evening with your boyfriend watching a good Christmas movie. Have Fun!

Let them open their gifts at the crack of dawn and while they're playing make them pancakes,eggs and sausage and (since its Christmas) set up a "create your own" pancake bar with sprinkles, chocolate chips, whipped cream, fruit, peanut butter.... whatever you can think of.... so they can make their own "special" pancakes. They'll probably be so excited and eat so much that they won't want lunch. If they want to do activities (besides their new toys) get some craft paint and let them paint snowflakes on the windows (the paint washes off with warm water and soap) or cut snowflakes out of paper. Have them draw portraits of one another (that is fun to see how they turn out). Have a Merry Christmas.... I'm sure any way you spend your evening will be fun.

Ham is the traditional Christmas dinner...The ham you find in your supermarket is almost always fully cooked and ready to serve immediately. Most people prefer to heat the ham, and a glaze adds flavor but be careful not to burn the glaze if it has a lot of sugar. I put it on about 10-15 minutes before you take the ham out. Also, you can glaze, broil (5 mins), glaze, broil, glaze, broil if you like. The side dishes I usually cook are mashed potatoes, green beans, baked macaroni and cheese, and dinner rolls. You can google any of these recipes if you don't know how to make them!

... Now, for your boyfriend... I would suggest lighting some holiday candles... and some sexy red lingerie. Simple. He'll appreciate, promise.

You should make a lasagna or something else the day before so you don't have to cook on Christmas. We always give our boys a few games for Christmas and then we play them in the afternoon. In the evening after dinner we give them a new movie (this year is Meet the Robinsons) and pajamas and them we all get in our pjs ad watch together.

Perhaps a christmas movie you could rent and snuggle up on the couch and watch with eggnog or cocoa and christmas cookies.

Or buy a family game and do the same thing with egg nog, etc.

not sure of their ages - but this was a low key way to keep the day special when I was little.

you can bake some cookies or cupcakes and get everyone in to it. Have a nice DVD movie to watch together. For supper a nice ribeye steak with mash potatos w. gravy, some vegetables on the side that everybody can enjoy.

You can get some cookie stuff and let them help you make cookies on Christmas Eve. Icing and topping makes good fun for kids and they can leave them out in a dish for Santa.

For dinner, be simple, but traditional. Ham, Homemade mac n cheese, potato salad, corn-on-the-cob, green bean caserole, cornbread. Then you can make banana pudding, chocolate cake, and 2 pies.

It's mean to make them wait til after breakfast! Opening presents should be the first thing they get to do!
