Oh yes . Let's blame the media ! It must be there fault. It couldn't be the fact that guns are so available. It couldn't be the fact that this young man needed help and no one was able to see it. Let's blame the nameless faceless media. Never blame the gun manufacturers that produce guns with no other purpose than to kill people.

so far every body is blaming the individual. isn't that what the public media always does?! these people are also victims of the media!!

if that is the raionality then one should conclude that all the who were killed are also at fault since they shouldn't have been in that mall. that was their choice to be in wrong place and wrong time. peace

"Robert Hawkins wanted to go away with style"

Going out with style to me means living a full healthy life, being able to babysit my great grandchildren one day and then, when its my time to go, go to bed one night and never wake up.

The media is doing its job. Taking the lives of innocent people just because you are a moron is sickening.

No the way most people in his life practically "threw him away" If they didn't make him feel worthless and not worthy enough to keep at home this wouldnt have happened. It definately didn't help that Candace was physically and mentally abusing him! He was labeled all his life as a "bad seed" so to say, so he decided that if he wasn't important enough to be known and kept in life, that he would do this in hopes that his memory would be known and kept. That's my opinion anyway.

    Yes they are.

By sensationalizing this behavior like in Columbine, it feed the heads of disturbed people who simply need the bug put in there ear that this might be a good way to get attention or be lauded as a rebellious hero.

Problem is, by rabid competition between the news media, they are as seriously disturbed as the people they are provoking to commit these crimes.

With that kind of logic you would also blame Janet Jackson for little boys becoming perverts and females turning into whores - your reasoning isn't (reasonable).

No - he made his own idiotic decision and wished to go to hell apparently

No. Everyone is responsible for their own actions.
