Air Force vet, college educated, have travelled most of the USA, half of Europe, and part of the middle east. I continue to work, travel, and learn. My mostly liberal opinions are based on my observations and experiences but I am willing to accept that I am sometimes wrong and can learn from others. I can also teach others as well. I respect your opinion even if it is different than mine. Sometimes, however, I just like to argue. You do not have to agree with my point of view, just answer intelligently.

  • Do you speak your political opinion as forcefully in public as you do in YA?

Be honest. Online debating with its relative anonymity affords a sort of protection for those who get really nasty. Some of the things that I've seen in type I don't believe would pass for proper social behavior and in some cases would cause a fight. Admittedly, I've been more "forceful" online than I would probably would be if I was having a face to face debate. So are your "huevos" bigger in here than they are in person?

  • How about a joke to end the night on a good note?

Dan found out he was going to inherit a fortune when his sickly father died, so he decided he needed a woman to enjoy it with. So one evening he went to a singles bar where he spotted the most beautiful woman he had ever seen. Her natural beauty took his breath away. 'I may look like just an ordinary man,' he said as he walked up to her, 'but in just a week or two, my father will die, and I'll inherit 20 million dollars.'

Impressed, the woman went home with him that evening and, three days later, she became his stepmother.

Good bad or mediocre? Let me have it then I'm going to bed.

Divorce? Deny it ever happened and attack those that are giving you the information? Or forgive and stand by your man? What would you do?

  • Did GW Bush introduce to us 1000 Points Of Lies?

A study by the Center For Public Integrity has identified 935 false statements made by the Bush administration in just two years. Over the 7 years he has been in office that represents a ratio of 1 lie for every soldier that has died in Iraq or almost 4000 lies. Basically they have lied to us more than once a day for every day since they have been in office. Many of us are not surprised by this revelation and are just ready to move on. But this represents one of the greatest frauds ever perpetrated on the USA by a sitting President. Should we just do nothing and allow him to get away with it? George HW Bush tried to improve America with his 1000 Points Of Light. Did his son misunderstand the last word of that initiative?

  • Republicans: Do you vote FOR your candidate or AGAINST the democrats?

I am amazed by how many people on here are talking only about Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton. It seems that everyone is either for them or against them. But are any of you actually for another candidate. Ron Paul is the only candidate that seems to move anyone on the republican side and he is running a minority campaign. Do any you have anything good to say about the GOP side?

  • How do you teach a dead man to fish?

A man with a strong work ethic gets sick, loses his job, then loses his home. He can't get a home because he has no real job, and he can't get a real job because he has no home. He can't afford health care so instead of getting treated he gets sicker. He is hungry, homeless, jobless, and dying.

Should we help provide him with what he needs to survive, or take him on a fishing expedition?

  • Is it possible that science and religion are not at odds; and that only our understanding of them are?

Within the focus of creation Genesis says: "This is what happened." Science says "This is how it happened." Scientist (and followers of science) tend to discount Biblical explanation I think because of the word "God". If weconsider how long ago the Bible was written, the fact that it was translated from ancient languages, and the perceptions and writing methodologies of those that wrote it, it is not difficult to conclude that "God" may have been assigned human traits intentionally or otherwise in order to aid comprehension. Ancient man may not have been able to comprehend energy and its properties operating within known and unknown laws space-time physics. Taken less literally, "God" could refer to "Energy". If instead of a sentient being wielding unexplainable powers, we think of a singularity being referred to as God, is it possible that one day it may be written; And God said let there be light, and there was a Big Bang and that these two ideas could become one?

  • Will Arnold Schwarzenegger be appointed to Barack Obama's cabinet?

At the risk of alienating diehard Democrats, Mr Obama said: "What he's doing on climate change in California is very important and significant. There are things I don't agree with him on, but he's taken leadership on a very difficult issue and we haven't seen that kind of leadership in Washington."

The Illinois senator has said before that he would include Republicans in his cabinet in the interests of reaching across the party divide.

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/ne...

He likes his environmental work so I'm thinking Secretary of the Interior.

Could this happen? And what do you think of Obama's non-partisan approach to appointments?

  • Why is YA promoting a commercial that violates the TOS?

  • Why are we in bed with Israel?

I'm smart enough to know that Israel's geographic position in the middle east gives us a strategic stronghold should all out war ever breakout with the middle east. I also know that as long as we (The U.S.) hang tight to a military advantage, we will never be attacked by an organized military. But is this the only reason? Alexander Hamilton once wrote, "nations have no permanent alliances, only permanent interests. "Interests" explain our presence in Iraq. But what are our interests in Israel? Money is almost always involved in every public decision made. So is it just military or is there something else going on? Those of you who have examined this issue please chime in with what you know or believe to be true. Those that haven't, give me your speculation anyway.

  • Why did Ron Paul earn 6 million dollars in one day?

Those of you familiar with my Q&A know I like Obama. But I am not a one dimensional thinker and maintain an open mind regardless of who impresses me most. I have often been critical of Mr. Paul, but lately have come to believe that he represents the best republican candidate. I don't agree with enough of his issues to swing my vote, but believe he does at least deserve listening to.

At the heart of his earnings for this day lies a disturbing mix of people. I say disturbing because it includes an unhealthy mix of white supremacists. David Duke's crew donated heavily it seems. The financial support garnered from this sector would easily convince most that Mr. Paul was somehow in bed with racist. So I checked it out. What I found is that this group does not align with Paul's views but does view him as the best chance to disrupt the government status quo. Character limit restricts more detail so read the links: http://www.davidduke.com/

Read and answer headline question please.

  • Is it automatically racist for a black person to endorse another black person?

Obviously I'm addressing the issue of Oprah being characterized as racist for her support of Obama. Since she has never endorsed any of the other black candidates for president and articulates only the issues, I am wondering why her support has been characterized as racist. I've even heard mention that she only supports black Chicagoans; another fallacy given that Jesse Jackson operates out of Chicago.

Some of the same posters accusing her are the same ones who resent being called racist because of their views on immigration. If your views are solely about the issues then why can't hers be? In 2007, blacks are so diverse now that opinions vary just as widely as anyone elses. Whites vote for blacks, blacks vote for whites, whites vote for whites and blacks vote for blacks and none of it is about race. So I ask anyone, especially those of you pointing the finger, why can't Oprah endorse the candidate of her choice without this accusation?

  • Will the GOP try to rig the 2008 Presidential elections?

No disrespect to the millions of honest hard-working Americans with conservative values who vote republican. This is about a GOP staffer who admitted that the GOP fixed the 2002 New Hampshire election in an effort to control the senate.

Inside a GOP effort to rig the 2002 New Hampshire elections

One of his tactics, Allen Raymond said, was angering union households with calls in which people with Latin-sounding voices talked favorably about a rival candidate's support for the North American Free Trade Agreement. And he used the voice of an angry black man, posing as a Democrat, to stir up "fear, racism, bigotry" in white neighborhoods.

...he wrote: "After 10 full years inside the GOP, 90 days among honest criminals wasn't really any great ordeal."

The political dirty tricks "will only get tougher, nastier, more brutal" in coming elections.
