How do you teach a dead man to fish?

A man with a strong work ethic gets sick, loses his job, then loses his home. He can't get a home because he has no real job, and he can't get a real job because he has no home. He can't afford health care so instead of getting treated he gets sicker. He is hungry, homeless, jobless, and dying.

Should we help provide him with what he needs to survive, or take him on a fishing expedition?

Update:

Nice one icecop. You don't bury "survivors"!

Politics aside, We have to fix the Economy. We are in this mess couse the economy is down. There is no cash flow.

If we fix the economy, The guy does not losses his job, If he does not losses the job, he does not losses his house.

    These are chain reaction.

Now if the government instead of inputting the money in to the war against the Terror????!!!!!! put the money in for fixing the economy, Now that man may never have too live as a homeless.

Oh dear not one of these questions that make people blame the illegals!!!

Just a rant but the most homeless I see are Citizens and Veterans of war not illegals...duh! Just from what I see. So the scenario is for anyone. Many "legals" have run into this especially with the economy and housing market the way it has been going. ( If any of these people read the news it's happening everywhere!)

Yes, ANYONE who is uninsured, being that it is almost half of the U.S. can walk into a hospital and get care.

I won't get into statistics of how many illegals get Medi-Cal VS American Citizens but there are much more Citizens cheating there own system! Truth hurts people!!

Who ever this person is in the scenario there is always a way to make it work. It just takes more time and effort to find programs to help people in situations like this. We can help him with what he needs to "survive" but is that enough for that person. Usually not! Helping people get back on there feet...that's what we do, when we are not being greedy prejudice in anyway.

After all, this is the U.S. the land of opportunity. If he wants to he can work out in the fields picking strawberries or whatever...but sounds like its a person with no strive or ambition to me. You get kicked you still stand up, that's the way we live now.

Truth- anyone who is sick or in need will be treated at a hospital. If you dont believe me, answer how an illegal immigrant who has no health care can have a child in the United States in a hospital with 0 money.

Spin- we need universal health care. It will just be another tax on the middle/lower class, because the rich dont need it.

There is nothing in the Constitution that should lead anyone to believe that health care is the responsibility of government.

Obviously, he needs help. Once helped, he has to accept the fact that he must get an education and develop the skills needed to maintain his own survival.

Too many today reject the education given them, are anti-social and shun society, and end up jobless, homeless and sick.

They are either crazy or are receiving their just deserts for their rejection of the wisdom that created the civilization they live in.

Should we keep providing for those who hate the help they receive?

    Dead men don't fish!

Airplane takes off from NY City, on it's way to Mexico, crashes on the border. Where do you bury the survivors?

If he is legal he should be helped. Having social programs in this country to help the needy is not the problem...it's these very systems that need overhauling, to make it harder for just ANYONE to recieve help. ALSO...if one is receiving some form of assistance there should be DEFINITE limits. the main goal of recieving assistance was originally meant to be temporary until one was better able to help themselves.

Most hardcore conservatives would take him on a fishing expedition. They do not seem to understand that we are LITERALLY ALL ONE...BOTH WITH EACH OTHER, AND WITH GOD, AS WELL! And I do mean literally. There is no such thing as separation...separation is only an illusion. *sm*

    To answer your question;

You cannot, But your premise is flawed in the fact that in the scenario you pose, the worker can walk into any American Emergency Room and be treated for his sickness. Thus saving his life and preventing his demise.

I'd bet that when reflecting the choices in his life, he would not vote for Democrats and wish to change to the GOP.

Source(s): You could drag a liberal to the lake, but would he know how to bait a hook ? It's just like capitol punishment to the worm.
