If Andrea Yates had said, "God commanded that I offer my children to Him," would you believe her?

Why/why not?

How would you know that God did/didn't command her to do that?

Note: offerings do not always have anything to do with sin.

I would believe that Mrs. Yates is a very ill lady and leave her in peace to heal with the best medical care she has available to her, rather than use her as an object lesson to promote a viewpoint.

Because Jesus was the ultimate sacrifice for our sins. there is no more need for any type of sacrifice such as this. Our only sacrifice that God demands from us is our hearts. The Apostle Paul says "I die daily." So must you and I if we ever wish to attain eternal life. For further understanding, how do we die? We die to our own seves, which is a daily process. We die to our wants and our desires. The Christian walk is not about you or me anymore. It is about Jesus, period and giving our hearts in O-b-e-d-i-e-n-c-e. The greatest offering one could give the Lord is a yielded heart.

because of the fact they're attempting to discredit Judaism. some previous archives had 11 % of yank Jewish inhabitants as Orthodox. So those adult men look asserting that for the duration of user-friendly terms orthodoxy believes in god. that's, of direction, completely fake. and in the event that they provide orthodoxy the lead in perception, they're asserting that the only branch that believes in god is the only that maximum glaringly might reject their teachings. a stupid, baseless lie is what they're claiming.

Because God quit communicating directly to humans 5 thousand years ago.. and he would not be a part of killing a child.. I think that was evident with Abraham.. He did stop him you know.

    Believe that she believed it.

I am skeptical whenever someone says "God told me to..." People from the beginning of time have done horrible things and blamed it on God. In the bible, God is blamed for genocide and other horrible acts, when it was PEOPLE who carried them out. It was easy for them to explain it away by saying "God told us to..."

Source(s): I'm a Christian who believes God lives OUTSIDE the bible.

I'd believe she's mentally ill and could probably benefit from some good anti-psychotic medication. A hallucination is a hallucination, even if it is about God.

    Not a chance in Heck.

There is no "God" to command anyone to do anything.

My God, (not allah) would not tell someone to do something this evil. Plus, Andrea should have been put to death a LONG time ago.

No because she's proven to be mentally ill. And it's not ok to kill your children ever.
