When will some Christians realize that they don't know that we are in the "last days"?
For generations (even centuries) there have been some Christians claiming that we are in the "last days" and that the second coming of Christ (a term found nowhere in the Bible) is right around the corner. In EVERY instance, they have been wrong! Will they ever get it?

5 AnswersReligion & Spirituality6 years agoWhy do Jehovah's Witnesses believe that receiving a blood transfusion is sinful?
A blood transfusion is not the same as eating blood. When you eat blood, it is digested and used as food. When you receive a blood transfusion, nothing happens to that blood. It mingles with the blood already there and helps to preserve life. JWs won't even allow a dying child who desperately needs a blood transfusion to receive one.

Why is it wrong for WWII vets to visit the WWII memorial but it is OK for Nancy Pelosi to have a big rally for ILLEGAL aliens in the same Washington, D.C. mall?
4 AnswersGovernment8 years agoIs there a way to prevent a certain number from being called from my landline phone?
My 13 year old niece is now living with us (her mother is in jail and her father decided to live in a vodka bottle) and I need to see if there is a way to keep her from contacting her mother's boyfriend who is into drugs.
5 AnswersLand Phones1 decade agoChristians - Where does the Bible teach that smoking tobacco is a sin?
I don't find smoking mentioned anywhere in the Bible, yet many (not all) Christians insist that it is a sin. Where does the Bible teach this? Book, Chapter, and Verse.

15 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhy does "God" force a girl to marry the man who raped her?
"If a man happens to meet a virgin who is not pledged to be married and rapes her and they are discovered, 29 he shall pay the girl's father fifty shekels of silver. He must marry the girl, for he has violated her. He can never divorce her as long as he lives." - Deut. 22.28-29
Notice that there is no provision here for the girl to refuse to marry this monster. Why would a just and loving god force a girl to marry the man who violated her?

12 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhere do some folks get off saying that some people are not "true Christians"?
I am an atheist but I know enough to realize that a Christian is someone who believes that Jesus is the son of "God".
Just what makes some of you people so perfect and wonderful that you can judge others to be "false Christians"?

Yes, I am an atheist, but I am just curious.

20 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoIs there any evidence, other than the Bible, that the Ark of the Covenant actually existed?
Any evidence at all? After all, many of us don't believe in the inspiration of the Bible so it is of absolutely no value for us. Is there any evidence that a non-believer can accept for its existence?
I know that it made for a good movie, but that's just Hollywood.

13 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhy do Jehovah's Witnesses elders refuse to testify in pedophile cases?
They claim to have "clergy-laity" privilege, but at the same time claim to have NO CLERGY!

I know, I'm an atheist. Still I enjoy quite a few Christian hymns. My favorite is "A Mighty Fortress is our God".

13 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhy do some people claim that Jesus of Nazareth was a community organizer?
Just where does the Bible describe him as such? It describes him as a teacher and one who challenged those in power, but I cannot find any description of him as a "community organizer" either in name or action.
3 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoHow can Christians insist that the Bible's prophecies are all true?
"Thus says the Lord Jehovah: I will put an end to the wealth of Egypt, by the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon. He and his people with him, the most ruthless of nations, shall be brought in to destroy the land, and they shall draw their swords against Egypt and fill the land with the slain. And I will dry up the Nile and will sell the land into the hand of evildoers; I will bring desolation upon the land and everything in it, by the hand of foreigners; I am Jehovah; I have spoken." -Ezekiel 30:10-12
The problem is that this NEVER HAPPENED!
How do you deal with the fact that this is a blatantly false prophecy?

13 AnswersYouTube1 decade agoDid Peter REALLY believe that the end of ALL THINGS was at hand in the first century?
1 Pet. 4.7 - "The end of all things is near."
Keep in mind that this was written in the 1st century. Well, Christian? Do you believe that when this passage was written, that the end of all things was near? If you don't, you deny the Bible. If you do, you deny the evidence of your own eyes.
So which is it?

12 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhy do people who have never studied the laws of thermodynamics try to use them in their arguments?
I don't know how many times I've heard someone claim that evolution is against the laws of thermodynamics. Some people say that evolution can't happen because the 2nd law of thermodynamics says that disorder is increasing. Do they not know that snowflakes being formed from water droplets are an example of increased complexity happening spontaneously?

12 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhat's with the tons of Bible verses being used to prove stuff?
Some people here just cut and paste verse after verse from the Bible and seem to think that it proves their point. Tell me, how is quoting a bunch of Bible verses going to convince someone who doesn't believe the Bible of ANYTHING?!?!?!?!?
It's sort of like quoting the Qur'an to prove Islam or the Book of Mormon to prove Mormonism. It just doesn't work, folks!
