Getting Married in 17 days----on crutches?
I reinjured a bum knee, and looks like I damaged some cartlidge :( Big Bummer I know!
So me and My best friend were thinking about decorating my crutches? Does anyone have any ideas? We were thinking pearl ribbon and navy blue ribbon, bc my dress is white and he is wearing his Dress Blues (In the USAF)!
So please give me any ideas!

That's a great idea! I'm really sorry that you're going to spend your big day on crutches, but it's great that you're not letting it get you down. Pearl ribbon is the first thing that came to mind when I read "decorating my crutches" so I think you and your best friend are on the right track. Congrats to you!

That is a great idea that you are decorating your crutches for your wedding. The pearl ribbon and navy blue ribbon is a good idea. I'm sorry that you have to spend your big day on crutches, but at least you're having fun with it with the idea of decorating.

I'd say you're right on it. If you could take the crutches apart so they could be spray painted white to start with, that'd make the decorating job easier.
Take a look at the colors on his uniform - ribbons or medals or stuff. Maybe adding some spots of matching accent color in the form of little bows or ribbon tails would work. Just don't overdo it. You just want the crutches to blend in, not stand out.
And mostly, keep smiling and be cheerful. So many people hurry through their wedding day. Life seems to have delivered you a real clear message to slow down and enjoy yours!! :)

My dad broke his hip and walked me down the isle when I got married. That was the sweetest thing he could have ever done, but I think I would have preferred to have wheeled him down in a wheel chair but he was determined.
If your dad was strong he could carry you down the isle. As far as that goes, break tradition and have the groom fetch you and carry you down the isle himself! It would certainly be something to talk about.
If you still wanted to decorate the crutches, then perhaps some ivy wrapped around with ribbon and tulle. Your going to have a hard time carrying your bouquet.
Too bad you couldn't find someone with a rick shaw. It would be like a chariot taking you to your groom.... now that would be romantic too. Or how about a white horse? Certainly would be a fairy tale scene:)
OR, you could get a couple of air force guys to do a forearm lock and carry you down the isle. At the altar have a tall bar stool with a fancy white chair back and ribbon on.
That way you would also have a swivel seat and not get tired when you are saying your vows. Then have your husband carry you back down the isle himself.
Congratulations! I was married to a man in the USAF too. Now retired after 22 years.

You're probably using standard drug-store aluminum crutches. Do yourself a favor and find a pair of wooden crutches -- you can probably find some at your local Salvation Army store. Paint them white, and spray paint the foam bits white also. (Due this several days in advance so your sure their dry before you need them.) Then decorate away. The spray paint on the foam won't last more than a few days before it starts to look crappy because of the flexibility of the foam, but you only need them to look nice for one day.
If you had more advance time, you could mail order for a nice pair of crutches in white that would stay nice looking, but your need is only temporary, and this would probably be overkill.

Aw, what terrible timing! I would wrap ribbons around your crutches in your wedding colors, or something girly like light pink. Maybe some pretty bows tied here & there would like nice too. I saw something like this is an issue of People magazine & it was actually really cute! Her bridesmaids also decorated her cast with rhinestones & such. Just don't go overboard with it....Good luck!

Use the navy and pearl ribbon, add some flowers in places where they won't get in the way. Sorry to hear that but glad you aren't freaking about about it like some people would be. Get down the aisle in style (I rhyme!) and have a beautiful day!

Hey...good idea! As others have said...perhaps spray paint them white and then add your decorative ribbon!
Glad to see you are taking this in stride and not having a meltdown over it!
Good luck and I hope you have a beautiful wedding day!

I think it's great that you have such an upbeat attitude about your situation- good for you!!! I had my crutches decorated for Christmas and New Year's a couple times- I spray painted them and wound ribbon on them. It made me feel so much better!!

Wrapping ribbons around it is a pretty good idea. You could also paint it a certain color. And as a suggestion, for you sake, don't put a throw down (you know that sheet of paper down the isle)...wouldn't want you to get hurt!
