Well, here is my insight as one of said "children"... Yes. Of course. Most young people today - at least, the young people I know - really do understand the value of higher education and the effort that must be put forth to achieve in such a competitive society. So even if our teachers do not teach us, even if our parents do not teach us, still we read and grow and learn on our own. It might be shocking, but we LIKE to learn. At least, the people I know do. I obviously can't speak for the majority of the population. But if a child learns basic morals early on in life, then I think they can and will learn anything they can find. I learn from textbooks, because my parents are not here and my teachers would rather drink coffee. But it isn't up to them, is it? It's all up to the kid!

Because educated people are smart and know the answers or they know the answer because teaching children means that they're learning.

Are our children learning?
Of course they are; it's the most natural thing a human being does from the time they are born.
The questions should be, "what are they teaching our children"?, and is it meaningful to them, does it have a purpose?
This is a question that should be asked by each, and everyone of us.
Some of us have, and that is why we choose to home school our children.

Of course your child is learning... but the question might be ->what<- is the child learning?
Topics being taught in schools are determined by the state, and that might not be what you want to teach your child, or at the very least, you might want to teach him/her differing views.
Be involved in your child's education.

I notice that alot of kids these days are home schooled.
Must be because of all the violence and drugs in our schools.
They don't really teach what you really need to know in school anyway. You don't learn about business, stocks, finance or anything in generic school classes. Its a waste of time I think.
They should be teaching kids about mortgages, stocks, mutual funds, bonds, business ethics, etc, basically tools you can actually use when you get out of school.
But it seems like its just a gathering of idiots.

I would hope so!
The educated people probably wouldn't be thinking about asking the question.
