Am I turning into my Dad?
I have been asking/telling the kids 'please turn of your bedroom lights, it looks like Blackpool illuminations' or 'close the back door, where were you born in a barn?'

I think you are just realizing your dad was right when he said those things to you. So now you are passing on the wisdom to another generation that won't listen until they get your age.

Happens to everyone. Not turning into YOUR Dad specifically lol, their own parents! You just get a different perspective on life as you get older. I wish all I had to care about was what time Inspector Gadget came on the telly, doing homework and turning up on time for horse riding lessons again like when I was 10! Now its Gas bills, electric bill, council tax Mortgage blah blah blah...... You know you'rein trouble when you say to one of them, "That's MY chair. Out" and you make that hand gesture.... You KNOW the one. ;-)

Yes, you probably are. I don't think we realize how much we are like them until we are older. I am 40 years old now and I find myself doing alot of things like my mother and my father. This is why we all should hope we have a good childhood!

lol, that's funny because I think at one time or another most parents think that. I have said things plenty of times and stopped and thought omg, my Mom used to say that all the time. I think it is just us finally realizing that alot of what our parents said to us were true and said for a reason.

maybe you are realising why your dad said what he said when he said it and maybe you are giving the kids a similar bringing up to yours without noticing
