where are you? in the cities i would try a free clinic... try calling 211 - it is the helpline phone number and they should be able to get you to the right program or place to get a free prescription - after that i would try wal*mart to get the med - they have that 30day supply for $4 and i would call to see if what you are scripted fits, some of the sliding scale doc's have free samples as well
don't mess with this - an infection in the mouth can move to the brain and cause death - is that worth saving $20 bucks?

Are you on Minnesota Care?
Also, try the U of MN dental school - they may be able to help out on some kind of sliding scale fee. You don't want to mess around with an oral adcess, you can end up getting it into your heart.

not a dentist but been in your shoes.
check out this website that gives many different home remedies you could try- they vary from clove oil for pain, chewing a clove of garlic, tea tree oil, peroxide, tea bags etc. to help draw out the abcess.
Getting to a dentist is a must so please call a school or something too toget on a list for help.
hope this helps
