Yahoo Answers is shutting down on May 4th, 2021 (Eastern Time) and beginning April 20th, 2021 (Eastern Time) the Yahoo Answers website will be in read-only mode. What do you have to do to be a "top contributer" in a particular topic?

I see all these people with them and have no idea how you get that? Apparently it has nothing to do with being within the top 10 answerers within a topic (I've looked around). It also has nothing to do with the percentage you get for choosen answers (i.e., people with 50% choosen answers, not top contributer in anything). Any clues?

Actually, Yahzmin is wrong (alert the media!)

I answer in lots of categories, and now have two badges (I've had the max of 3 in the past).

But you would need to focus more attention on the categories you want badges for.

As Yhzmin said, no one knows the exact criteria, because they don't want people gaming for it.

They're reevaluated every Monday morning (or possibly late Sunday night). So they come and go.

Lots of answers in the given category, with a certain number of Best Answers for them (latest rumor says 45 answers in 30 days & 10% BA, but the exact formula is the Yamster's secret and changes from time to time!). The Yamster himself explains all about it at this blog:

Source(s): If a person does not stick to ONE (or up to 3) category(ies), they will not earn a TC badge.
