I always take the "discount" at the restaurant, but I will be a senior, when I surrender, and that ain't happening.....I still like Karaoke Bars, fast motorcycles, and dancing.....I am not old, till I say I'm old.....Sometimes I feel my age, and sometimes, I feel 21 again....Most of the time when I feel 21, I hurt myself....

According to AARP we are seniors at age 50. At the least we are in the last half of our life after reaching 50. I know the odds of my living to be 100 are very slim. I do feel like a senior in the sense that I have reached maturity..... finally! We are in the class that will soon be graduating to the next level: eternity, death, heaven, hell, the great beyond, etc. It gives you a different perspective on life.

I know I started receiving all the information from AARP when I turned 50. Most places don't even consider giving "seniors" a discount unless you are at least 55. I think with all the baby boomers, they have raised their age requirements.I am 56, and I don't feel like a "senior".

Last May I was in Goodwill on a Wednesday, and apparently they give a discount to seniors on that day. When I started to pay for my purchase, the young woman at the register said, "I hate to ask this....." So I said, "Then don't, " but she went ahead and asked the dreaded question, "Do you qualify for the senior discount?" When I told her I didn't know; how old do you have to be, she responded with "Fifty-five" and I said, "Well, I won't be fifty-five for three weeks" and she said, "Close enough - go for it!" I felt so embarrassed and old and defeated, and THEN she said, "Hey, I just hope I can make it until I'm that old!" So, for someone who normally feels like a kid, I felt suddenly very old!

a million. i think of timelessness is quite important whilst naming a new child. and that i believe what you merely pronounced, i know i'd make a wager approximately their age in accordance with their call. 2. My favorites in many cases fall into: e) undying Names: Names that have been in use rather continuously for the final a hundred years and would't be dated to a particular decade. (examples: Elizabeth, Katherine, Miriam, Rachel, Caroline, Lydia, James, William, Victor, Samuel, furnish) 3. Worst decision for a new child: f) Oddball Names: Names that are so uncommon they might't experience commonly used of any era and for this reason have most of the timelessness of the class above. (examples: Demetria, Rosamund, Evadne, Gawain, Abdiel, Piers) ?

LOL
When I was 20, I considered anyone over 40 a "senior". When I was 40, I considered anyone over 60 a "senior".
Now that I'm in my 60's, I consider anyone over 100 a "senior".

Seniors means I can relate to an earlier times. It means am retired and I do not have to punch a time clock.
I have time to travel and the means to do it.
That I have wisdom over a 20 year old.
I started calling myself a senior when I was able to get the senior discounts..............I do not think you have to feel a certain why to be a senior. Or even look a certain way....

i know what you mean. do not look ..act or feel like a senior. not quite fifty .. i also notice..that when it comes to receiving senior discounts.. the older i get.. the higher they make the age for senior. lol i think it is now 65 or over. but that will change too. when i was young,. it was fifty and over.. then 55 and over. hey... do not fight it. enjoy. i guess AGE IS REALLY JUST A NUMBER. :)

the AARP senior discount starts at 55 here. But I hope I don't feel like a senior for a lot longer than that.

I've been a senior since I was in diapers as the sibling were a junior and younger than me. Good days and bad alike don't revolve around my age but my physical health.
