Merry Christmas is most often used in the US. Happy Christmas is usually used in England and other old English speaking areas such as parts of Canada even.

I've always heard "Merry" and will always continue to say that. To me, "Happy Christmas" just doesn't sound right. Some are trying to change it because we say "Happy" for everything else, but that's just like not allowing Santa to say "Ho Ho Ho!" anymore. It's always been like that, and I feel sorry for those who have nothing else to do during the holidays but to sit and think of ways to criticize them.

I say "Merry Christmas" just because i think it sounds more festive and friendly rather than just "Happy". I also personally dont like the whole "Season's Greetings", it sounds very un-personal and not christmasy!
