    I have faith that He does exist, and that we will all be taken to Heaven one day if we confess our sins , ask for forgiveness, and believe on Him. Grams

    The rule of logic is that you do not prove that something does not exist, the person making the claim must prove it. It has been shown over and over that proving something doesn't exist is a futile process. This is not specific to religion, it is true for any claim that can be made.

    Having said that, at this point in time an examination of the evidence basically shows that it would not be surprising if Jesus had existed, but the question of his divinity is still there.

    Edit:

    40 to 100 years after the fact is hardly "eye witness" or contemporary documentation. Note that Josephus' passage is also disputed as it is out of character with his other writings. Also note that many, if not all, other writings used to prove Jesus' existence are not direct evidence as they reference his followers and not the actual person.

    This is a contradictory question. If something does not exist it will not leave evidence of its existence or non existence. Hence the question is not meaningful. The logical starting point always has to be that things can be said to exist or have existed only once evidence is found.

    There is no evidence of the existence of Jesus outside the bible. Given that the bible is biased and hence unreliable, independent evidence is vital.

    To give a currentexample, there is abundant evidence of the existence of Harry Potter in the books and films about his life. But the lack of any outside evidence to corrobrate his real existence pretty much clinches that he is fictional. Just like Jesus.

    Romans are very good record keepers. There is no verified record in any Roman document from that period mentioning Christ and his disciples, nor of His trial and crucifixion. The evidences for the existence of a historical Christ are all circumstantial evidences. So are all the evidences of God's existence and of the Big Bang event.

    Let's all stop fooling ourselves. It CANNOT be proved one way or the other.Writings dont prove anything. Physical evidence proves things. I could write that Adolph Hitler was a good man. That is not proof of his goodness. I believe that Jesus existed and thats' the end of it for me

    I am puzzled by your use of the past tense, as it makes it sound as though the ministry of Jesus was just another part of history. Many Jews and all Muslims accept that there was such a person. The fact that He was born and lived in the country we now call Israel and that He died are borne out by the contemporary writings of Josephus and the readiness contemporaries of contemporaries to die as martyrs for their adherence to Him. What makes all the difference is not so much that He was as that He is -- having risen from the dead He is real to all believers and we expect Him shortly to return. To meet with the risen Christ is to have a transformed life. That's how real He is.

    The same could be said of elves, witches, Zeus, and well, I could go on and on.The burden of proof is always on the one making the claim that someone or something existed.I believe that a "Jesus" existed.Even around the time period that it is suggested this individual lived.That name, in it's original form, was very common in fact.That doesn't prove that he was all powerful or did any of the things that 'after the fact' writers claimed he did.

    If u think Lord Jesus Christ lived taking the proof of a book called Bible which was written so many centuries before & by his so-called followers;

    then Lord Rama & Lord Krishna too had lived taking the proof from Ramayana & Mahabharatha {two great epics} which were interrelated too.

    I can't prove that purple Moon monkeys don't exist. That is a damn poor reason that I should think they might.

    On the whole, he probably did. But he wasn't impressive enough that anyone who actually saw him bothered to write about it. The couple of outside references were all decades after the fact and that means they are only evidence of an urban legend.

    Wise S - historical research seeks to find verifiable evidence, ie from more than one source. The Bible is a single source. If it's claims cannot be verified from other reputable sources they are held to be unverified. This is basic level history, I learnt it at age 16.

    I think he did exist, just not in the manner that the Christian mythology describes. The guy in the Bible is probably a gestalt of any number of messianic cult leaders in 1st century Jerusalem.
