How do I stop being such a big fat pig and eating everything in sight?

All this rich holiday food has me on a binge of gluttony. Savory dishes, tons of desserts...my pants are getting tight.

What is your advise on how to get back on the straight and narrow? And please no salad ideas, its cold outside!

This may sound stupid and incredibly simple, but to suppress a craving or urge, brush your teeth! Brushing my teeth helps me fight an urge because i wouldn't want to eat with freshly brushed teeth. If you can't brush your teeth, eat a mint or something. I bet you wouldn't want to ruin your fresh breath with some food either!

Refraining from eating too much is just a matter of discipline. Have the discipline! When you feel the urge to eat, jiggle your belly, feel that excess fat, and think about if you really still want to eat.

There are also things you can do to curb appetite, like eating fiber-rich foods, like grainy cereals (oat bran, mini wheats). Stimulants, like coffee, also have a pretty strong appetite-curbing effect.

And don't buy junk food! Keep your kitchen free of it. If you live with parents, gripe at them for bying high fat junk. Like this you aren't only helping yourself, but the whole family.

And don't forget: what's so bad about being a little hungry anyway?
