I am to report tomorow in Dallas, Texas for probation oreintation. The problem is thw paperwork I am instructed to take with me is at my parents house about two hours away. What legal actions will be taken toward me? I am a transfer and have violated once before but I was not charged with a violation, I was re-instated after jail time. You have to have your paperwork or they'll probably send you back to jail at least until someone provides them with the paperwork. And obviously you can't get it if you're in jail. They didn't just tell you today (New Year's Day) what paperwork they needed, so they aren't inclined to give you a break. I think you better start driving and call your parents so they're not shocked when you show up in the middle of the night.

    Good luck and drive safely!

If you don't show up then you got problems. Showing up is what YOU HAVE TO DO. I am sure the paper work that you have to bring came from the parole or probation or court. They all have copies of that s%&$t!

No you are not talking to someone that has no idea of what I am talking about. I have done the jail thing and also the prison thing.

If you don't show up to Dallas; you will go to jail. They aren't goiing to violate you over some papers. They will violate you if you don't show up.

Find out if your parents have a kinkos near by, or some place else they can fax your paperwork over. Of course, its past midnight in texas... so you're kinda screwed on gettin it tonight. But you CAN use this time to look up the fax number to the court you're going to be at tommorow... and have your parents fax your paperwork there (with a cover lettre saying who you are, whos court you're supposed to be in, and all that fun stuff in case it goes to the wrong office). Give this number to your parents... and keep a copy of the number (and name the number belongs to) for yourself to present to the court so they can track down your paperwork. its an option.

Startbrit....I recommend that you do whatever it takes to report ,the least of the problems is the paperwork,if you show

up! they should have a record of your file or case and you can take it from there ,but if you decide not to go you might as

well go to the police station and tell them you have violated your probation ,and resignate to wait , until your agent contacts you you should really make an effort ,freedom is a

gift ,that I won't trade for anything !!!!!!!

Heres what you do. call your parents, call them right now, and if they dont answer call them again and again and again, call your friends in between and send them to the house to bang on the door, throw rocks, whatever it takes. then they need to get their butts out of bed and bring you the documents. This is nothing to play around with. tell them youll do some housework for the trouble you caused them, whatever it takes. and if you cant, do what others have said: show up anyway.

Incidentally, most of the paperwork can be faxed from your former area.

If you can't get the paperwork, show up anyway, and ask them if you can have a little time to get it, or ask them if they have a way of getting it themselves (they might be able to get it faxed to them), but show up no matter what, cuz you don't want a warrant out for your arrest for not showing up.

drive to your parents house, you dont want to get back in jail, when you are on probation one thing that they hate hearing from you is excuses or explanations you follow what they say and thats it.

Why didn't you take care of this before? You knew you had to go to Dallas tomorrow. You probably have known for weeks. Why'd you wait until the last minute?

Tell them to fax it to you.

It isn't as good as the originals, but it will help.
