Does Huckabee have support base outside of religious circles?
Huckabee opposes embryonic stem cell research, emergency contraception and stricter gun laws, all of which rank high on the list religious conservatives whose support he's ridden to the top of the Republican presidential field. But does he have electoral support from non-religious peoples in the US?

Thats the crucial question. Do the Republican want to risk another Christian right candidate or are the electorate sick of Bush and his shower?
Huckabee appears to be a bit of a demagogue when I've seen him speak doesnt raise his voice and has very much the approach of a Minister in a service (which he was). It's realy hard to tell which way its going to go for the Republicans.

No.
He's a fiscal liberal, so many of us old Reagan and Goldwater conservatives aren't particularly impressed with his policies. I think he's Hillary's choice, because it would split apart the uneasy coalition that small-government libertarians have had with the "religious-right," thereby dooming the country to full-on, high-tax Marxism.
I'll take Romney or Rudy, though, in my heart, I know Ron is right.

He's also soft on crime, soft on immigration, and pro-taxes. These positions are going to turn any real republicans off on this guy. It seems like the Christ Complex is the only thing he's got going for it, and it seems to be working too. =(
