No they are not in the title game the team that wins the "national Champoionship game" gets the title and the #1 ranking at the end of the season. In this case it would be OSU or LSU but OSU will win so they will be #1 OSU also has only 1 loss Kansas will finish in the top 10 though but not #1 and they hd a pretty weak schedule as well just like USC, OSU and Oklahoma

No, and due to their strength of schedule they won't get any consideration at all. But they should. Despite the prevailing thought that they're overrated, KU beat everybody they faced this year except Mizzou, and unfortunately they just ran out of time against Mizzou. KU is a team who can hang with any team in the country - including GA, LSU and USC. Laugh all you want but they proved their worth this season. They are an electric and exciting TEAM who could definitely beat anybody on any given day.

  • KANSAS PLAYED NOBODY

VT WAS A FRAUD IN A FRAUD CONFERENCE

END OF THE DAY LSU OR ohio state WILL BE THE NATIONAL CHAMPIONS!!!!!.... hopefully LSU

and in response to KansasState: LSU: 5th toughest schedule in college football you get beat up when you are playing good teams every week, we had alot of overtimes and we took them to trips overtime, and last time I checked Arkansas has a good team and won 8 games this year...

Ohio State: Lost to Illinois, you said that they were and easy team, they are ranked 13th and went to a BCS bowl

Just because a team isn't ranked in the top 5 doesn't make them an easy team

No. Their only quality win was against a Virginia Tech team who didn't even show up to play. The combined record of their regular season opponents is 60-78 and if you take Mizzou out of that the record is 48-77. What kind of a regular season schedule is that?

Because Ohio State only has one loss too. If they win against LSU, then they will be 12-1 just like Kansas, but will finish ranked #1.

Win/Loss only means so much towards a ranking.

Kansas is not beating any of the top teams. Just look at it realistically they were lucky to play V.T. who is from most certainly the weakest major conference this year.

They don't deserve to be #1 because they are not the best team. I know it is difficult because teams don't play in a playoff but Kansas isn't at the same level as the best.

They didn't even win their division, let alone their conference. They only beat one ranked team. Hell, they only played two ranked teams all year and Mizzou dominated them.

Kansas represents everything that's wrong with college football; the current format encourages teams to have a cupcake schedule so they can get the big payout.

Kansas is an a decent team at best.

No, you are not a champion if you don't win THE TITLE game!!! Why do you all keep asking this silly stuff? They, at best deserve the #4 slot:

    1.) Ohio State or LSU

    2.) Georgia

    3.) USC

    4.) Kansas or WVU

    5.) Kansas or WVU

It doesn't go just by the record. Its a computer system that takes into account the difficulty of their opponents, Just to say, LSU lost two games but are in a much harder conference. If they win tomorrow night they will be #1

Even if Kansas had an "easy schedule" it's not like they lost to easy teams like Arkansas (LSU), Stanford (USC) or Illinois (Ohio State). Those 3 teams lost to "easy teams" and KU lost to Mizzou by a TD. KU is an amazing team and I don't believe there is one team that would kill them, or even come close to doing that.
