you've got it...sort of. The thing is, "good" could not experience itself as such without "evil". Therefore God must have created both if "he" created either. You would never appreciate being well if you were never sick, etc. Two sides of the same coin..."God" and "the devil" are two sides of the same coin.

Good and evil don't really exist; they are labels people use to describe actions, thoughts and things people say etc. To me murderers etc aren't evil, they are people who, for some reason, made the wrong decision and think differently from most people, and, myriad different things may have contributed to this difference of action and thought. Hitler is an example of a man doing something extremely wrong, not necessarily evil, as many people at the time in Germany didn't consider what he was doing/saying as "evil." I think that this shows how easily swayed and susceptible humans are to ideologies and following the crowd so to speak. Hitler was a horrible individual from the species Homo sapien, nothing more. Using the word evil automatically evokes feelings that maybe a higher power or satan had an influence in the matter. That's another reason why I don't like things to be referred to as evil as it leaves open the possibility of excuses and it downplays the role that the person had. In other words, it distances the person and the act from "mankind" as we can't, or don't want to comprehend how anyone could think or act in that way; it is a form of denial that some individuals in our species could be so disgusting. That's my 2 cents.

The way this question is worded seems to throw down the gauntlet, and i can't resist a try at answering this.

Toss that coin in the air, tiny seeker. It can never land with BOTH sides up. Too bad that good and evil aren't that simple. You have to choose. And that's the answer to everything else You ask, because You have left free will out of the equation. You have to choose.

Good and evil are two sides on a ten sided dice. Various shades and the uncertainty of reality bleed out the concepts of Absolutes. Personal perspective and judgment and vibes form the ideas of 'good' and 'evil'. It was not evil that allowed the Holocaust, it was indifference. Enough people shrugged and turned away that horrible atrocities could be performed against innocents. Shades of grey can be more dangerous than straight black or white.

I don't believe that "good" and "evil" truly exist; they're so subjective as to be meaningless. What is evil to you might be perfectly acceptable to me, and vice versa. So I really don't buy into the idea of a god causing people to be good or evil, seeing as I do not believe in the concepts themselves.

We are all born with a sinful nature. Just look at any toddler who is throwing a screaming fit because another child snatched away his toy. There is not one of us innocent. The only thing that saves us from this sinful nature is the cross of Christ. Although we are still not perfect when we accept Him, we surrender to His will and each day we can mature spiritually.

Man can be evil on his own. No need for God or anyone else.

god gave us free will soo if we choose to be evil then he has no power what so ever over that
