I have PCOS and take metphormin and clomid did work for me. Much here in the whole PCOS statement in getting pregnant is your body weight and the doses that you take. For example I weighed 240 lbs took 1800mg of met and 50mg of clomid and dis not get pregnant. I had been trying for 12 years with dh. I went to a fantastic doctor in Atlanta GA. Their website. WWW.IVF.COM. Any way Dr Perloe gave me a good stern talking to about my weight. He told me the sugar in my diet was preveting my eggs from getting large enough to become viable. He suggested Sugar Busters diet, Low Carb, Healthy carb. I did that I lost 40lbs over about 5 months. I then took 2000mg of met spilt up through out the day and took 100mg of clomid on day 2-6 instead of the 3-7 days. I think with PCOS it all boils down to this. Insulin is a hormone. When you don't control your sugar intake your body provides too much Insulin and your body cant handle it. This is the foundation for Insulin Resistance. When you have IR you are typically overweight becasue of eating patterns. You store the fat, mostly on your stomach ( thank you PCOS) and then the estrogen in your body gets stored in the fat. The brain then says oh you need estrogren to get pregnant, but look around I have plenty, check out this in the stored fat, here here and here. Bottom line, lose what excess weight you have if any. Eat a balanced diet, (low in refined sugar) Watch your cycle become more predictible, PCOS symptoms diminish and see that positive line on you preggo stick. It took me 4 months after losing the weight, I was at the I give up point, and low and behold I have a wonderful 4 year old daughter now. I know the pain of not being able to get pregnant. I was told by numerous doctors I would never get pregnant, or stay pregnant and 10 years ago you had to have a knock down drag out to get a doctor to understand why you would even want to take Met if you were not diabetic. We have come a long way since then. But the Met will help your body to some degree, but its only a slice of the pie. So is the clomid. Don't give up, have you partner checked out also. I think eating SOY helps your body too. Dont go crazy on it, but it is a healthy protein source. If I eat junk these days I dont have a cycle that is timely, (I still take 2000mg of met a day). If I eat low carb, soy in soups and soy milk. (No Bread or White Potatoes) Bam my cycle starts, excess hair growth slows, skin clears. So I apologize to you if this info I am sending your way is not the answer you were looking for. But for me it WAS answer I did not want to hear when it related to me, but for me it was and is the answer. NOTE if you are not overweight don't try and lose weight, being underweight could hurt your chances of conception too. Life is a balance, so is getting pregnant. Dont give up. It will happen. Also you need to chart, fertilityfriend.com is an awsome website, chart your weight, your temps, meds, symptoms. Best of all its free.

Hi I'm also in the same boat as you. My partner and i have been trying to conceive for 14 months but no look. I also have pcos and like everyone have good days and bad. I started the year really bad and felt so down. In February i started on clomid and had my follicle tracking scan and produce an egg. Unfortunately i didn't get pregnant and i`m still waiting for my period. I have some tablets to make me come on so hopefully this week it'll come. Then next week will be my second cycle. The best thing is not to give up hope its so hard especially with your hormones are all over the place. I find I'm up one minute and crying the next. You just have to stay positive that it will happen eventually. Its really encouraging taking the clomid when you go for your scans and you see their's an egg their. It boasted my confidants. I'm really hoping this next cycle will be my turn... Good look to you and sending you lots of baby dust.. feel free to e-mail me if you need to talk...xx

a low carb high protein and fiber diet. I have PCOS and when I eat better and excercise and lose a few lbs, my body gets back into gear and I start ovulating again. I can't stress enough how important a healthy diet and excerise is to those of us with PCOS and TTC. Good luck
