besides jose theodore, who are the biggest busts in the nhl so far this year?

or what teams aren't even going to get a whiff of the playoffs? ( i really am narrowing the choices down for the who is going to win the stanley cup)

Update:

sorry , i didn't ask what round of the playoffs will the wingies choke in this year that was going to be my next question

Update 2:

so answer the question! lol which round?

Update 3:

i see so even die hard wingie fans admit they are accustomed to the aforementioned "choke" as it were

Well, first of all, I dont think Jose Theodore was a bust, because at the start of the year it was Budaj's starting role. Theodore was 2nd string and the fact that he and Budaj are spliting starts 50/50, i wouldnt call that a bust. The biggest dissapointment this year will have to be without a doubt the Tampa Bay Lightning. First Boyle..and we all know what happened there. And the fact that you have a young guy in Lecavielier and hes having another awesome year, even better than last year maybe and yet the LIghtning are last place in the East. I think Buffalo would rank 2nd as dissapointments.

I thought the Leafs might be a bit better than last year after signing Blake and trading for Toskala. After a 40 goal season, Blake only has 8 so far this year and the team is gawdaweful. On the plus side, after being shut down for several months, I get to go back to work next week and will have a lot less time to notice how bad they are.

Jason Blake. Everyone expected him to have another 40 goal season. He isn't scoring. He got some of his touch back but at this rate he's only on pace for 15-18 goals. The Leafs are a bust althogether. All who said Blake and Toskala would get the Leafs to the playoffs. I bet Toskala wishes he was still a Shark. A team now 27th in the NHL which in 2001-2002 finished 3rd in the Leauge.

Simon Gagne-even last season he nearly broke 70 points for the Flyers. He got a concussion and only has 8 points to date.

    Michael Ryder.

easy zam... no longer does emotion and players decide a rivalry but instead marketability does... tru tru and mike would make miracle recovery. I'm not looking forward to playoff and the billion choke questions... puck might have to get his counter out for it.

as for your second question " I would rather be called a choker in the conference finals then to not make the play-offs." (other version exist in rather then constantly draft in top 10)

i ain't claiming bust till season over

hmm 10 million dollars for a guy whos on pace to score 24 goals and 26 assists? this one is easy, thomas vanek, no doubt about it

  • 1 decade ago

I guess Vanek to an extent. I think a lot of people expected him to have a big season (although I thought he would struggle)

  • Biggest bust? The nail or hook that held up Dan Boyle's skates.
