On the weekends, we will all go out and make a shopping day, including the groceries and go out for lunch at the local pub or McD's. During the busy weeknights, we'll sit after dinner and play with the kids, when they're in bed is my hubby and my time to spend time together. As a family we do everything together, we like each other and spend as much time as possible to build a close knit family.

    • Try to make eating dinner together a regular habit. Turn off the TV during dinner and talk about eachothers' day, current events, etc.

    • Go on a short road trip together... in one car.

    • Go camping as a family- this is very affordable and can offer fun activities for all ages, including starting a fire, fishing, hiking/nature walks, biking, cooking food over a fire, making smores, etc.

    • Take a day to go to a local Swapmeet together (usually on Sundays). There will be something for everyone!

    • Play board games together.

    • Volunteer at an animal shelter or a non profit organization for the day.

    • Summertime? Get in a car together and go garage-saling in your neighborhood.

    • Have a beach day- bring towels, sunscreen, an umbrella, and pack lunch

Quality family time is a great way to stay close with members of your family. Above all, have fun! :]

One of the easiest ways to spend time together is to sit down and have dinner together. You can also play games together--not computer games, but Monopoly, Scrabble, Uno, or some other the other family games. These games are not only fun, but they are learning tools for children. Monopoly teaches them the value of owning property. Scrabble increases their vocabulary, and Uno teaches them the ups and downs of life. Chess is another excellent game that everyone in the family should know how to play. It teaches children how to broaden their scope, how to strategize. and how to be patient. You can have family tournaments, throughout the year, which helps to sharpen everyone's game. There are lots of other things families can do outside the home as well--trips, movies, the zoo, museums, parks and such are all family outings to enjoy together.

Eat supper together every night of the week. On Saturday we go to the grandparents for hamburgers on the grill with the aunts and uncles and cousins! On Sunday we go to church!

We take trips together and do about everything together!

If my wife has Dr. appointment or something my kids even come to my office with me!

We eat most evening meals together and hang out together in the living room watching tv and/or playing with the baby in the daytime and evenings. In the holidays I try to make sure that we do at least one activity/trip together.

We don't have kids but we like to go to the park and walk. I see lots of families there. The kids play and I also see them riding their bikes while the parents walk.
