Will remaining on the ballot in Michigan hurt Hillary's campaign?

According to the state party, voters can still indirectly vote for the other candidates by choosing "Uncommited", and these delegates will be free to cast their votes as they choose.

I was looking quickly, but I haven't found if Michigan's delegate number was reduced as punishment for holding the primary earlier than the party wanted. If this actually happened, as was being discussed, Michigan is probably statiscally irrelevant for the candidates.

Ok, thanks for the details. I didn't know about this. So it sounds like althought the DNC said that Michigan can't come to the party, the candidates have already said that they will seat the Michigan delegates and that the rule that the DNC made up for Feb primaries will not be followed and Hillary WILL indeed get her votes if she wins (and since Obama and Edwards dropped out of Michigan, that seems wrapped up for her...like a present.) NICE!!! :-) A BIG psychological boost for Hillary...just what the doctor ordered!!

I think it will have no effect. All Michigan did was negate their primary.

Unless it is REAL close and then Hillary could have the delegates to pull it out. But if it's that close there will most likely be a floor fight at the Convention anyway.

It won't make much of a difference either way. Winning Michigan won't get her much news coverage (because it's a meaningless win), and some people will think less of her because she is not supporting the disenfranchised voters in the state.
