Christians - do you think this man is crazy???

Man Sees 'Mark of the Beast'; Cuts Off, Microwaves Hand

HAYDEN, Idaho — A man who believed he bore the "mark of the beast" used a circular saw to cut off one hand, then he cooked it in the microwave and called 911, authorities said.

The man, in his mid-20s, was calm when Kootenai County sheriff's deputies arrived Saturday in this northern Idaho town. He was in protective custody in the mental health unit of Kootenai Medical Center.

Is he CRAZY or was he doing what he had to do to protect the world from doom and destruction?

The mark of the beast refers to numerology of Hebrew symbolism in assinging numbers to the letters in a person's name. The numbers 666 refered to the numbers assocaited with the letters in the roman emperor I believe it was NERO's name. He was responsible for establishing offical Roman government persecution of Chiritians(Catholics), and thus the beast -- at odds with God's church. It is a form of Jewish symbolism -- a way of identifying an offical to beware of without alerting the authorities.

It appears in the book of revealtions written by St. John about Roman persectuion of the early catholic church, and how the church would persavere in spite of the beaset Nero, who would be defeated and would not have the eternal life that christians have, thus a beast.

Therefore, yes the man in the article is menatlly ill.

In Matt 5:30 if your right hand offends you cut it off. This is an idiom, like when we would say, "I'm so hungery I coudl eat a horse" You wouldn't expect the waiter to cook up and serve you the winner of the Kentucky derby would you?

Anyone who cut off their arm and cook it in a microwave is not mentally stable....

Quit quoting scripture if you do not know what you are doing, there are so many resources out there.. look it up and try to find out what it was talking about before you paste it up here...

    # And if thy right hand. The instrument of outward action.

    # Causeth thee to stumble, cut it off, and cast it from thee, etc. Jesus here emphasizes the earnestness with which men should seek a sinless life. To this the whole Scripture constrains us by the terrors of hell, and encourages us by the joys of heaven. The right eye and hand and foot were regarded as the most precious (Zechariah 11:17; Exodus 29:20), but it is better to lose the dearest thing in life than to lose one's self. To be deprived of all earthly advantage than to be cast into hell. Of course the Savior does not mean that we should apply this precept literally, since bodily mutilation will not cure sin which resides in the will and not in the organ of sense or action. A literal exaction of the demands of this precept would turn the church into a hospital. We should blind ourselves by taking care not to look with evil eyes; we should maim ourselves by absolutely refusing to go to forbidden resorts, etc. "Mortify" (Colossians 3:5) is a similar expression.

Yes, I think he is crazy... why not just refuse the mark when it comes if he is one of those who thinks that the rapture will not have already happened... why cut off your hand when the mark isn't even on it? The mark will not just "appear" on people's hands, it must be accepted, so he was clearly crazy and seeing things. Makes no sense to a Christian or a non Christian... to either one the man's actions were nuts.

I am curious about whether those who answered that they think this man did the "right thing", if they think he belongs out on the streets amongst the public or is he and the general public safer that he's in a mental institution.

Quite honestly, I can't even phathom doing that to myself, but I suppose people have done more horrendous things than that.

Honey, take a breath and learn some appreciate, whether you do not have faith in it. Crucifixion grew to become right into a hardship-loose punishment interior the previous maximum criminals have been given this crime. something of those issues are meant to be miracles. additionally, Jesus grew to become into nailed on the go, supposedly his dying grew to become right into a sacrifice. whilst he's worshiped the go is in simple terms a representation of saving grace, in basic terms Catholics save same to Christ bleeding on the go.

He was protecting us all from the Beast. I for one am glad that he was well-versed in the Bible, just think what might have happened if he had accepted being a Devil's tool?

"If your eye offends you, pluck it out. If your hand offends you, cut it off..."

I'm sure if microwaves had been around in the Bibranical times, then a quick blast for good measure might have been recommended...God was not against technology....just the Devil...

he was deceived. only the Antichrist can Give the Mark of the beast, and it can only be taken willingly. When the Antichrist rules the world for his seven years, those who take it will be selling them selves to Satan for eternity. the Choice of receiving it is a permanent choice

If it were for a pure fact the mark of the beast and no posibility or room for error. I would say he is alot smarter than the majority who would keep it.
