Tim Couch was not a good QB but he never really had a chance. The 1999 Cleveland Browns team was basically thrown together and a stadout Kentucky rookie Tim Couch was basically thrown into the fire. He never had a chance and if you have notice a lot of teams are sitting their #1 QBs due to that.

I would say the #1 overall biggest bust pick is......................................................... Tom Cousineau MLB 1979 pick out of Ohio State to Buffalo Bills #1 overall. The Bills was not even able to sign this guy as he did not like the contract negotiations. He went and played in the CFL until the he was traded for (future hall of famer) Jim Kelly. Cousineau went to the Browns and was payed the biggest contract in Brown's history at that time. He finished his NFL career with 6.5 sacks and 10 interceptions in seven seasons (5 Cle 2 SF)

For those of you who answered Ryan Leaf, you're all wrong because he was drafted second overall. The Colts picked first and picked Manning. If you remember, the Colts had a long debate over picking Manning or Leaf.

My pick is another quarterback - David Carr. For years I thought (along with many others) that the problem was the offensive line of the Texans. The problem is Carr, who is horrible. He couldn't start over 85 year old Vinny Testaverde. After Carr, I go with Tim Couch. An actual couch would have made a better quarterback. It sure as hell woulda been more mobile. Ki-Jana Carter & Courtney Brown have had their careers derailed by injuries, they have no control over that. Carr and Couch have control over their own suckability.

Like someone said, if a team lets a player's contract expire, that player can leave and the team would get nothing in return. Brandon Marshall wanted to leave Denver, and his contract was about to expire. Look at it this way. Denver traded 1 year of Brandon Marshall's services for 4 years of a 3rd round pick. If that pick is a bust, then it wasn't a good trade, but if that pick becomes a solid starter, then Denver becomes better over the long run, even if that draft pick isn't as good as Marshall.

It's gotta be a toss up between the years that the Cleveland Browns drafted Tim Couch and Courtney Brown #1 overall.

Tim Couch never had a standout game at quarterback, is no longer in the NFL, and his career winning percentage, and QB rating are absolutely horrible.

Courtney Brown had tons and tons of promise, but he never really panned out due to injury. As stated earlier, you can't really fault a player for injuries, but because of the injury, it's a wasted pick.

    Aundray Bruce

LB, No. 1 overall, Atlanta Falcons, 1988

That had to be the worst all time. He eked out 11 nondescript NFL seasons, starting just 42 games.

Todd Maronivich drafted by the Raiders out of USC. Since being released he spends most of his time in jail or crack houses.

Flag Football Genius, if you truly are such a genius you would know that this is JaMarcus Russell's first season, and he has only started one game and did well. Wait till he's a full-time starter.

Sorry for the random LSU rant. I have to defend 'em sometimes :)
