Birthday plan for Mom. Do you have an idea?
My mother’s birthday is approaching around the corner, and I wish to make it a special one again this year.
It seems as if I always struggle thinking of great birthday ideas. But I must admit that I am thankful for the Yahoo! Answers site, a place where over a million people share ideas, knowledge and advice every single day.
Nevertheless, I already have something in mind, and I would like to share it with you so you can help me make some corrections, or add more tastes to my plans for my loving mother, a person I place no one above, except for Jesus Christ, for her birthday.
#1 I plan to take her to the Beauty shop to pedicure her finger nails and toe nails.
After that:
#2 The the limousine arrives to take her to the City for a horse ride.
After that:
#3 Take her to an official restaurant to have dinner. The waitress brings a covered plate to the table. Mom then removes the cover from the plate. Surprise!!! A genuine diamond necklace.
Dop you like my idea, or do you have a better idea? All ideas are appreciated.
I will also choose a best answer for this question.
Thanks, guys!
Dad
I meant " Do" not " Dop"

The necklace may be expensive and pretty and may impress her. thats all fine and dandy but what she will cherish most is quality time spent with you because that is something she will remember and carry with her for all her remaing days as opposed to a pretty piece of jewlery that she will not wear every day. It is quality time and doing something special and unique that she would enjoy but not think of herself, that will make the day really special. TRUST ME.
Heres what i think so far but i will be back because im still thinking. If you like my ideas so far then send me an email with more info about her personality. I LOVE the seniors and possible helping to make a seniors birthday extra special just makes my day!! thanks for asking this question:)
CERTIFICATE for multiple nail sessions thereby clearing more time to spend actually DOING something with her.
certificates or notices of other gifts stashed for her to find throughout the day. kool cuz she will be excited and watching for SOMETHING all day long while you are spending time with her.

i dont know if you mean a horse or carriage ride. but if it is an actual horse ride then she has a love of both horses and the out doors. if i am right consider taking her to a ranch or some stables where they have very young horses and arrange for both of you guys to spend some time with the little ones. preferrably in pen with multiple young ones who are friendly. would be awesome if she could hand feed them and/or possibly bottle feed one. This would be special because if you dont have horses of your own then the only horses most non owners can come in contact with are adults. If she raised you to be and think like the guy we know in here, then its safe to say she loves kids and animals so spending time with the baby horses would be priceless. Remember that she is aware that she could be finding some kind of other type certificates or gifts at any time thru the day which will add to her overall excitement and anticipation for the entire day.
gotta go but im still thinking and will be back later.

Dad,
These things are beautiful and what every mother would love.
Mom:
Your birthday is coming near
when it does it will be here
for another year.
This is a poem for someone who is very special
as well as thoughtful
Over the years you have always looked for me
lets spend the time together just you and me.
I have more to say
mom Happy birthday

Wow Dad, your Mom is one lucky person to have a great son like you.
My mom just celebrated her 90Th birthday and we had a great party for her. We invited relatives she had not seen in a while and all of her family to come and join us for lunch at her home. We fixed seafood gumbo, chicken dressing and chicken spaghetti and all the works. We had special flowers ordered to be delivered to her. We asked for "no gifts please" even though some showed up with gifts anyway. ***THE BEST GIFT to her was to have her whole immediate family with her for the day and lots and lots of extended family to share the day with her also!!
Her birthday cake had a spray picture of her when she graduated from high school. It was beautiful.
She was so happy. I have never see her enjoy herself so much in her life. This is just one suggestion. One my mother loved to the bottom of her heart.
(this also gave us a chance to get group family pictures at this time. and total family pictures)

That's a fantastic plan. You did'nt say how old your Mom was, though. A long night out might be tiring for her.
Her comfort is more important than the gifts, even though they are grand.

nice but you need flowers, and cake and you for dinner, all this is great but she will need time with you to enjoy it, what is an official restaurant , will she be dinning alone , limo ride and horse ride alone? that would not be good

That sounds like a great idea, but perhaps you could theme it towards her more, if she isn't in her eighties, you could take her to a more hip restaurant, or if she will be older, perhaps a diner. Or you could cook!

If you live with your Mum or can get into the house early, make her breakfast in bed, or arrange flowers to be delivered first thing.
They are for consideration only, I think every Mum in America would like what you are proposing to do.
............mmm...............puzzle.....you are dad........we are talking about dad's mum.......scratches head........does that mean she's our grand-mum........puzzled H-Man LoL
