A 32 team league of the best players in the world is very different from thousands of college teams teams where most teams don't play most other teams, and you need ranking committees. The playoffs offer intensity and excitement, great for marketing! Also, you cant have a sleeper team who looks small then beats big teams to win the super bowl. Sure, maybe you win a bowl game, but it isn't like you ever had a chance to get the big one.

great suggestion- cut to the chase and set a New England/Dallas Super Bowl since nobody could possibly stop either of them from getting there anyway. and then let different corporate sponsors choose their own matchups based on how well their fans travel and what divisions they play in. DirecTV, Coors, Chevy, Motorola, could all sponsor some of the bigger bowls, with Tinactin, and erectile dysfunction drugs picking up some lesser bowls so we could get postseason matchups like Houston/Arizona live from Albuquerque. or Mobile, Alabama hosting AFC East 3rd place vs. NFC South runner-up. good times. great call. the movement starts here.

Have you read anything on this site for the last year? the BCS is in shambles and we are all debating on a playoff that would work. The BCS sucks and they should go to a playoff and the NFL is doing the right thing I believe.
