I'd like to hear how others clean up after dinner, in step-by-step order. Do you clean the countertops 1st?

- Leftovers (if usable) in containers in the refrigerator

- Put dirty plates in the sink

- Fold Tablecloth and placemats or put in the hamper to wash if dirty

- Clear counters - put things away and place dirty items in sink.

- Clean/disinfect counters and stove top with Lysol anti-bacterial spray

- Load dishwasher

- Hand wash items that don't fit in dishwasher or are not dishwasher safe and let them air dry on counter

- Set roomba (robot vacuum cleaner) to work in kitchen if there is stuff on the floor

- Turn lights off and go relax :-)

It takes 15 mintues tops

- In the morning, my husband unloads the dishwasher and puts away all the dishes (including the ones air drying on the counter)

I usually try to do the dishes as my food is cooking as time allows. Then I clean up the countertops as there isn't much space in my kitchen, I also let my dishes air dry unless there are a lot of pots and pans to wash, then I towel dry them and put them away to clear the clutter, then move on to the smaller dishes. Once dinner is finished, I put the leftovers in the fridge and do the rest of the dishes. Then do a final wipe down of the counter.

I usually clean up as I go along when I'm cooking and my missus does the washing up. After dinner, all the left overs get put in the bin from people's plates, the leftovers in serving bowls get reused. It's all put into lunchboxes and does the missus and me for lunches during the week. Then all the dishes are piled up, I wash them and she dries them. Then we clean the table and vacuum up any other mess. Have a quick drink and off to bed...

put away leftovers, clear table from all dishes and wipe off. Do all the dishes. Clean counter top and top of stove. After the dishes are done drying, put them away.

i through all leftovers in the garbage start cleaning of the dining room table rinse all the dishes put them in dishwasher wash down stove and counters.
