20 year old thermopride furnace - time to replace?

I recently purchased a house with a 20 year old thermopride forced hot air furnace. I have a 240 gallon oil tank and I'm burning about a quarter tank of oil a week by leaving the thermostat at 64 degrees. Is this normal? If I replace it, any recommendations of what to get? I live in central PA, so it does regulary drop below 32. Also, natural gas is not an optiion since its not offered where I live and I have no gas lines in the house.

Update:

tanks in the basement about 15 feet from the furnace. Not a drop of oil in sight.

check to see if your nozzle is oversized. have it smoke checked by a service tech. thermoprides are great oil furnaces and if the heat exchanger is not cracked, personally i'd keep it. again, make sure youe at the correct g.p.h and it should be an 80 deg spray. if your nozzle is not matched with the burner, youll go through the oil

20 years is prior to energy star standards........60 gallons per week is a little high

You may want to make sure that the tank is not leaking...catching it early, if it is, will save you many EPA headaches and the previous homeowner may be responsible for remediation.

If the tank passes the leak testing, you will definitely need to have the burner serviced or replaced. You could probably just replace the burner and not the whole unit..........

Get the tank tested as you may be losing oil into the ground!

It was a good unit in its day, but its outdated! Eff rating on it is only about 40%Eff. New units rating are 82%/87%/92%/97% on the furnaces installed today. Your much better off installing a new unit. Also, your tank is probably a 275 gallon.

You could probably save quite a bit by replacing it with a high efficiency unit. For more info, check out my source.
