Is this disc drive problem reversable?

I have both windows xp and vista installed. Well vista has alot of problems but I'm still willing to put up with it and not condemn it totally. I have used the startup repair tool countless times and my vista disc is practically permanent in one of my drives.

Anyway, I got the BSD so did the whole repair routine. When I rebooted and logged in, the task bar displayed "installing driver........bios plug and play....Then, BAM. The BSD! This continued to happen untill I unplugged the both of my dvd drives.

Drives in = no boot

Drives out = good boot

Safe mode gets the BSD too, so is this fixable?

Update:

Of course I could reinstall, but it's getting lame since I installed vista so many times that I could literally recite the cd key. LITERALLY!!

    Why repair? Reinstall.
