Xbox 360 - PS3 - PC match?

I'm a PC gamer but I'm not stupid, games perform wonderfully on consoles. Give me a 360 or PS3 any day and I'll willingly lose a night of sleep playing.

All I want to know is what pc hardware would be an equivalent to any of these consoles. It doesn't matter if the pieces don't fit and work as a real pc, I just want to know ( for the separate hardware components ) what graphics cards, sound, processors etc. would be the equivalent or better.

Just for the record I have a game pad and it controls well but no matter what, you can't beat a mouse and keyboard in a 1st person shooter. The PC wins hands down.

I'm a PC gamer from way back, and the new console game systems are more like a PC than ever (especially the PS3) they have hard drives, video processors and an operating system, you can even load Linux on the PS3 and run it just fine. The main differences are the type of processors and controls, for example if you have a PS3 and want a larger hard drive, it uses a standard laptop hard drive. I too didn't think you could beat a keyboard and mouse for gaming, until I started playing games on my PS3 on my 61" HDTV (assassins creed) and now I'm a convert. I play the new UT3 on my PC (with a 22" monitor) and I wish I had purchased the PS3 version.
