Cornish hens, deboned. I wanted to make pigeon pie and that was as close as I could come and the quail were too small.

When I was a chef, I made a down east Canadian delicacy known as "Flipper Pie", and not the porpoise, it is made with the froe flipper of the Atlantic Harp seal, a common dinner item in Newfoundland Canada.

Well not exactly a pie, but a tartlet served as hor'douvres. They had a custard base with caviar and capers inside and a tiny dot of chipotle mayonnaise on top. They were served with very cold Finlandia vodka. It wasn't my idea. ... waste of good caviar as far as I could tell. LOL.

I have never done it myself, and it may not be weird to everyone, but in my opinion baking sharp cheddar cheese into apple pie is very weird. Never tried it though, and i might like it.
