Besides Smoltz, who are five other pitchers that came back from the bullpen?

I'm looking for pitchers who are the equivalent of Smoltz if five exist.

I don't think anyone exists quite on that level of success, but there are a few who have made a somewhat similar move. I can think of four:

Bob Stanley - Was a starter in 1979, became the Sox closer, then started 20 games again in 1987. Only lasted one year there before being put into middle relief.

Derek Lowe - He was a starter for the 1997 Mariners, but became the Sox closer after a trade. In 2002, he again became a full-time starter.

Kelvim Escobar - He was a starter for the Jays from 1998-2001, then became their closer in 2002. He did a little of both the next season, before jumping to the Angels' rotation in 2004.

Don Robinson - He began as a starter for the 1978 Pirates, but by 1984 he was the closer. After coming to the Giants, he was a starter for their 1989-90 teams.

    Starter, reliever, starter?

There's practically no one who comps to Smoltz' career profile, certainly not with his level of success.

I can think of a few relievers who converted to starting.

    Hough

Mark Davis, though it was a disaster.

Fingers and Gossage did the opposite, brief trials as starters, but it wasn't a good idea with either and back to the pen they went. Wilhelm also had a trial starter period.

Kaat went from starter to reliever, hung around forever.

Bouton went from starter to reliever, but had a few token starts in his later years (plus his one bizarre comeback season).

Aguilera began as a starter, went into relief, had one more "let's try starting" season, then finished in the bullpen again.

Ones I can think of and crosscheck quickly.
