How to deal with renters that became more...?

Seven yrs ago my wife desided to leave our marriage, so I ask a lady friend and her 13yr old daughter to rent a room from me for a very small rental cost. I constantly had problems collecting the rent but always felt sorry for them and did not ask them to leave. It has now been seven yrs, the daughter is now 19 going on 20 and had a baby with no father. The daughter asks me to pay for the babies food and diapers and to feed her also while she goes to nurseing school...the mother is still constantly giving me trouble with the rent and goes for weeks, sometimes months without paying...

So, the question is, what to do...is there a legal way to deal with this, and or is there a moral and proper way that I just can not see? Note that the mother feels that she is now and has been my girl friend...as for the most difficult is the issue with the daughter and the baby, for the baby is an angel, I have difficult issues...

Thanks for your responses!

Update:

A addition to the situation with the baby and the daughter, she has a boy friend that does not work, but comes over to my house when I am at work and eats the grocerys a long with getting his issue and other things...the daughter also gives him money that her mother and myself give to her for the baby and her food. Thanks again...

You are a decent person and they are taking advantage of you . The rental agreement is a business deal and nothing more. You rent them your apartment and they pay you the rent .

Don't be a fool ,if they don't pay you rent they have to go.See a lawyer and have these leaches evicted. At the present time you are supporting your tenant her daughter the boy friend and the baby.Smarten up,see that lawyer tomorrow and get them OUT.

Your biggest problem is that the lady thinks she is your girlfriend...how did she get that impression. You are in between a rock and hard place there buddy. I think your a pretty good person with a big heart. Break off things with the lady on good terms and offer to help her find another place...keep it contact with them though since you have grown to adore the little one.

...evict the freeloaders and get the police to enforce the eviction notice!

...does she thinks, or have you been sleeping with her?

...if, you are swayed by the little angel, then all is lost and forget the whole thing, they will get the place, from you without asking and one day tell you to leave! How cold is that?

  • U have been 2 soft with them over the years and they r blatently taking liberties u have 2 put ur foot down...NOW
