So when was the last time you stepped out of your comfort zone to serve Christ by serving others?

This thought has been on my mind because I confess it is so easy to get comfortable and lose sight of how Christ asks us to leave behind our prized lives and move into the work of the kingdom of heaven.

Update:

I see and take the point that this is ill-worded. The "so" is much more of a sigh, as I have considered how I have been of late.

Update 2:

Salad.... you are mistaken in your assumptions.

We all lose sight of what the Lord's desire for us at times, the important thing is that we get back on track. Serving others is not out of my comfort zone. I understand this concept well and I enjoy allowing others to see Christ in me by walking in love.

Considering I work during the week, my times of being able to serve others lie primarily on the weekends when I engage in the door-to-door field ministry, sharing with individuals the hope for the future that God's Kingdom will provide, and how they can have the hope of living forever right here on the earth in a paradise and in perfect health, the way God intended for man to live.

So, for me, the last time was yesterday morning. My wife and I will be doing it further this morning as well.

That is what Jesus ask everyone of His desiples to do. They did. Before you move out of the comfort zone, better make sure God is say to do so. If He isn't, you may end up in very deep trouble. But I try to help someone someway everyday to honor and glorify God for His mercies upon me.

I'm definitely not perfect... I am a sinner! But I try to remind myself daily to show others the love of Christ through my actions. That doesn't mean I preach to them; not at all. I just always try to remember Jesus' words: '' 'Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me.' '' Matt. 25:40 (NASB). To me, that seems to be so much more important than knowing all the finer points of escathology, or studying what this or that Church Father said about predestination and election, etc, etc. We are called to be ambassadors of Christ (2 Cor. 5:20), and in my opinion, the way we treat others should be first and foremost to us as Christians. It's always good to know what the Bible says on more trivial issues, but it means virtually nothing to me to call myself a Christian if do not allow the light of Christ to dictate the development of my character.

    Peace,

    Drew

i am a Christaian but I can guess a few things about u just by how u write....ur young perhaps no londer than 22, and you perhaps would call urself "evangelical". Sorry but I find the way u phrase this question judegmental and u sounds very self righteous....all you have to worry about is UR OWN SERVICE TO GOD. you do not need to harass other people and worry about their spiritual progress......be careful or you will put people off by being a)so militant b)so judgemental c)so superior d) so inhuman

I'm doing my best to be Jesus and His Father Yahweh's spokes person every time I come on this site. I hope that counts as stepping out of my comfort zone.

i believe god has work for us where ever we are if every one was a missionary off in Africa somewhere saving the children.what would become of that coworker of yours that was contemplating suicide in there car at lunch break.they would die because you quit your cozy job a week ago to go to Africa. there is a job for us to do and if we could be more sensitive to the prompting of the holy spirit by keeping in the word of god we would be less blinded by the guilt that Satan throws at us

Maybe it was the last time that I saw a baby dying for no apparent reason!!!

Revelation 2:23 (NIV) (Jesus says) I WILL STRIKE HER CHILDREN DEAD* (*Jesus Christ himself is the one having the pleasure of doing the killing of children!). Then ALL THE CHURCHES WILL KNOW that I am he who searches hearts and minds, and I will repay each of you according to your deeds

Control by fear is deeply rooted in God’s “Plan of Salvation”…
