How can I ignore racial prejudice at work?

I am Caucasian, and work with both Caucasians and African Americans, and respect and like all equally. However some of the whites are openly prejudiced against the blacks, and this bothers me. I don't know how to respond to the "N" word comments. So far I have told these men (they are ALL men who are doing this) that I have black friends who are much nicer than some of my white friends (of course, they didn't take it personally like I meant it). In this day and age, it's hard to believe people still have such backwards ideas. God created us all equally and loves us all equally, even those prejudiced against others for no reason. What are your thoughts? Should I stop trying to be friends with the prejudiced folks? I will not stop being friends with the blacks; they are very nice and I admire and respect them all. They did nothing to deserve the attitude of the cavemen.

Update:

Kazz, I said nothing about stopping being friends with the blacks, I said the PREJUDICED PEOPLE. Read it again, more slowly. You DO know the difference, right? Violet flame? I'll try it. Thanks.

Start dating one of them, and then make out with him all over the office.

To even ask if you should stop being friends with the black people is a little odd to me as the rest of your question goes on about how you hate what is happening around your workplace - is it really that important to you to be liked be the majority?

You dont mention how the black people you work with feel or what they say when they hear the white people using the "N" word - if they are over it and really dont care then I guess you should just let that go - if it upsets them - talk to them about it and suggest they complain - if they feel they cant complain you do it.

Personally I would go to management and put in complaints - I am really non racist though I judge people individually not as a race or religion

invoke the violet flame and rid your work place of this negativity.

    just say:

I am a being of violet fire

    A purity that god desires.

then visualize a violet flame coming over you and through out your work place and over these people.

you should stay out of it.if it was bothering the african-americans they would have it stopped .plus you dont know what they are saying about the whites.just because you dont hear that part doesnt mean its not happening.

Tell others that you feel everyone is equal, and ignore what people call you :)
