I finally watched naruto?
It reminded me why I dislike anime/manga.It had terrible artwork and hokey imaging.I have seen"good" anime and I am still unconvinced of it's percieved greatness.I'm more disappointed it has proliferated many marvel and dc comic titles.I assume it is because it is cheaper to draw, color and ink these bland images.
I mean proliferated into.
i have watched anime for probably longer than many of you have been alive,I have seen the same iconic characters rehashed for decades.I have been drawn into some of the storylines,i did enjoy dragonball Z until it got bland in storyline.I'm not trying to hurt feelings, but is like comparing High School musical to gone with the wind.
HSM might be entertaining but it pales artistically to GWTW.I can watch naruto and like it but compared to an animated cartoon like johnny Quest,or X-men it falls short.
I compare naruto to jonny quest just on the merit they are both animated-after all isn't anime/manga a japanese term for comic?I actually think The stories are much more in depth in most anime,i just get bored with the artistic style.Seriously though you can't compare anime artwork to the artwork of contemporary comic books of the 70s-90s.In my opinion anime is inferior in art and story. You may not agree but I think I am at least presenting a valid point

Hey i have a question, did you watch it in English dub? Cause if you did, the english dub totally messed it up and everything. You can't really state in just one episode how it's going to be. You have to look more into it. And honestly I loved it's artwork and everything. Alot of anime has BIG imagining, like dragon ball, (although i didn't really like it). I guess you're more of a marvel or DC kind of person. (cause i'm not) I really LOVED Naruto and I think you should give it one more try.

You can't really decide if an anime is good just by watching one episode of it. Plus you could have just started watching in the middle of the arc, thus causing you tons of confusion.
Hmm.. I don't know what's so terrible about the artwork... I mean sure, as the person above mentioned, Death Note's graphics were amazing, but you make it sound as though Naruto was drawn by a child. The art isn't as bad as you think it is.
In short, I suggest you watch a couple more episodes (with subtitles) and then make an opinion. Hey, if you don't like it - that's fine.
By the way I looked up the definition of "proliferated" and it means "to increase greatly in number". It doesn't make sense in your sentence or are you trying to say that it's disappointing that many Marvel and DC comics are increasing in number?
EDIT: Okay, we have something in common -- I loved Dragonball as a kid too ^^ So this tells me that you must like anime and have watched quite a lot, but it's kind of disappointing because a fellow anime fan wouldn't compare Naruto to a cartoon like Johnny Quest or a comic like X-men [even though it was good]. I know everyone has their opinions but you honestly can't compare an anime that's so popular to a junky cartoon like Johnny Quest. So you don't like it, that's fine, you're not going to help boost Naruto's popularity -- but please don't degrade it.

I don't care much for Naruto either, a better anime to check out is Death Note and Blood+. If you want an anime with great art check out Utawarerumono. :>
edit:
Ok hold on are comparing Naruto to cartoons like Johnny Quest? It's totally different. Those are still considered to be cartoons not anime. Even I don't care much for Naruto, but you can't compare it to a cartoon!! You've been watching anime for a long time? If you had you'd know the difference. Naruto isn't my favorite, but it deserves better then that!

You shouldn't just judge an anime/manga on just one episode/chapter. Sometimes it just takes sometime to gt into it and understand it. The artwork in anime/manga is very good. Its possible that you don't find it interesting because maybe you started right in the middle of the anime/manga. This will just ruin the whole plot ans story behind and you wouldn't understand maybe making you not like it. Anyway you should just give it another chance.
Naruto Rocks!!!!!

that's what i thought at first too...i said i would never watch it. But i watched it again, and it became more interesting to me. You'll realize it's good if u take time watching it. I ended up watching it almost 24/7 (not anymore, i'm watching a new anime)well, different people have different opinions right?

i've got watched it subbed on youtube... i assume it hasn't been dubbed yet yet subbed is greater powerful besides, with the aid of fact interior the dubbed variations the dialogues are specifically circumstances diverse and a few scenes are edited or decrease out. I merely reccomend to observe the unique jap version with subs. even although jap sounds unusual... hehe.

It couldn't keep my attention either. It's too serious and that kid's catch phrase " believe it!" makes me want to jump through the T.V. and bonk him on his head. Naruto is an anime for young kids who weren't around when DBZ (the greatest anime ever) was on regularly, like naruto is now.
