What type of RAM do I need?
I have an old laptop that I'm thinking of adding more memory to. It is a Pentium II, 333 MHz, but I am not sure if it needs SDRAM or the older EDO RAM. I know when this processor was introduced was about the time the switch was made from EDO to SD, but I can't tell which one I need. Does anybody know?
Oh yeah, BTW, if you're going to reply with an answer like, "DUDE, that's a dinosaur, get a new computer all together..." or "Why would you want to?", or something like that, keep it to yourself.

Different computers need different types of RAM
http://www.crucial.com/ is a good site for telling you the type of RAM you need for the computer you have. It will ask about the model name and manufacturer of your computer and give a few options for you.

Go to http://www.crucial.com/ , type your computer/laptop model and make, it will tell you exactly what you need. And the price is very competitive. But if you don't buy it from them, you still know what you need to get.
Good luck
On the light note, that is a dinosaur. Sorry .. LOL

Since you didn't say what type of computer this is, it's hard to say what type of ram in uses. Try removing the ram cover and see of you can tell what's in there.

check the motherboard's vendor website and check the specs for memory. it will tell you what kind of memory to use. also you might be able to find out by going the crucial.com (they have a memory finder if the PC is a name brand PC)
