So what about us Atheists, then, if you're all so loving....?

Someone asked about 15 minutes ago if Christians hate Muslims. Looking at the first answers as they come in, there seems to be just one answer - no, that Christians love all people regardless of differing beliefs. Why, then, do I get the impression from other questions asked on YA that Christians hate Atheists?

Update:

BTW, I'm just asking because that's the impression I have got from YA. I, myself don't hate anyone.

It's because we are as certain that evolution is true as they are that Genesis is true. They see it as a threat.

It's not their fault though, their minds have been hijacked by a parasitic meme.

I believe that Jesus rose again and that I have salvation and a new spirit, but I can't make other people believe that. I believe that when you die are dead until Jesus comes back and you either go on to live in the new heaven and earth or you just end. My life has changed and nothing can change what I believe because I'm a new person now.

And that's great for me, but I used to be athiest and I know that christians saying all this stuff didn't change my heart. That's a personal thing when you just come to openness.

So, I can honestly say I have never hated anyone, and when I get made fun of at college for my beliefs, I just wish they only knew. I love them though. It's weird! The meaner the thing someone says about christianity (and I really do respect their views) the more I find myself praying for them. It's my source of joy!

I don't hate athiests. How do you get that impression? We get attacked by them, and sometimes need to respond, but it seems like athiests sure hate christians. Of course, we are all human and may hate someone for the wrong reasons, but why would you hate someone who is just misguided? I don't. I would hope you could feel the same way about us. Look at some of the athiest answers, they are so cruel! They say God doesn't exist, read your buy-bull, and stuff like that. I don't see christians saying anything bad about athiests. The bible does call them fools, but that's God's word, not mine. I'm just repeating it. I think the athiests are much more cruel to christians than the christians are to the athiests.

They love you in that they want to save your soul.

There is animosity between the two, but not hate.

I really think part of the problem comes from the Atheists, who seem to proselytize and mock theists, which really shouldn't be a component of atheism. Atheists should be comfortable in their beliefs and just ignore Christians who try to proselytize them

BTW, I'm not a Christian, I'm not even religious, but I'm keeping an open mind.

Hate is such a strong word. The Theists and Atheists on here have a mutual disdain for each other. But we are still able to make light of it for the most part.

As a Christian I do not hate atheists as they have a right to their belief, I do however think they need to be a little bit more mature in their questions and answers instead of using mockery most of the time and intentionally trying to insult us. Chrisitians are not supossed to hate anyone, they are supossed to be tolerant of all others while at the same time proclaiming their faith and reaching out to others in the hope they will accept Christ as their Lord and Savior, without being pushy about it.

we do love you guys... but I can understand how some get venomous.... with a lot of the atheism-promoting trolls and Christian-bashing that SOME (not all) do, it's easy to get emotional and defensive. sometimes, I just have to walk away or I'll type something I'll regret.... it's hard to get your faith bashed and not start to feel a bit strung-out.

Christians love Atheists. Thats why we share the truth so you would know the lovingkidness of God and will also save you from the doom of hell.

We will never stop loving Atheists thats why we will never stop sharing the Gospel until you open your heart to Jesus Christ.

    God bless you.

I don't hate atheists and I am a Christian. I don't hate anyone no matter what religion they are. Jesus told us to love everyone no matter what.
