Can spouse(British) of US permanent resident apply for Visit visa? or it will be denied?

I am a Permanent resident of USA and My wife is a British Citizen, currently she is here on visa waiver. When she goes back can she apply for visit visa so that she can stay here for longer. or she will be denied a visa because I am here in usa as a permanent resident.

Update:

Change of status can not be done if the person is on visa waiver in US.Change of status can only be done if the person is on some kind of visa, like visit.

Why are you not wanting to change her status so she can live and work here?, which you can do as a PR. On a B visa (tourist) she can not work and she can only stay here for 6 months out of the year. The VWP only gives her 90 days

She can apply for a visitors visa, but unless she has extremely strong evidence that she intends to continue to make her home in the U.K., I'd say her chances of receiving a visitor visa are quite poor.

No one, not even the rich, take six month vacations. If she has been here recently for 90 days, and then she wants even more time on top of that, it is starting to look like her ties to the U.S. are stronger than are her ties to the U.K.

People who really live in the U.K. work there, go to school there, sleep there every night, pay taxes there, own property there, drive cars there, etc. A visitor for pleasure has to have a foreign residence abroad to which he intends to return. I think visa officers and border officers are going to doubt that your wife actually resides in the U.K.

But, she can try for a visa if she wants. Just remember, possession of a visa is not a guarantee that an alien will be admitted.
