Yes!! I need to get my act together and use them more often. I get too busy to sort through them and by the time I do, a lot of the ones I could have used, expired.
I saved $17.10 Saturday with coupons. It would have been $18.10, but one of the ones I had with me was expired. I missed it somehow thinking it was still good.
On a good day I can save $30!
The coupons I used saturday were on make up, oil of olay lotion..that one was $3 off! And the rest was all for food or houshold products, like cleaners.
As to if it's worth it, YES!! Imagine if you only saved $30 a month with coupons, that would be $360 in a year. Imagine if you took your coupon savings every time and put it into either a savings account or a christmas fund?
Some people would say, well why not just put $1 a day in the bank and you'd have the same thing. The difference is, the coupons give you the money to do that. If you did put $1 a day in the bank but didn't use coupons, you probably would have trouble paying for the groceries after a while. The coupons give you "free money" towards that account, money that you don't have to come up with. Imagine if you went ahead and did the $1 a day PLUS the coupons? Then you'd have $720 in a year. Or just use more couons. Make it fun. Try to break your saving record every month. You can get coupons in your local sunday paper and there are also coupon clubs online where you can swap coupons for the ones you DO need. That's when you really start saving! I use to do that and was saving $60 a month with coupons.

You could say that those not using a coupon are subsidizing those that due because the true price would likely be somewhere in between the two prices paid. Manufacturers and resellers are shooting for a certain profit. They know a certain number of people will buy at full price, certain other ones will buy only with coupons, and still more are somewhere in between. If coupons never existed then prices could, and likely would, be lower. A good case study for this is to compare Safeway pricing, which gives Safeway Club prices (aka automatic coupons), to grocers which don't do this. Their prices are typically consistently lower. Both stores are getting the average price for the items that they are targeting. On top of this, coupons are a method for manufactures and retailers to encourage individuals to try new and different items in the hope that they will continue buying them at non-discounted prices in the future. The reality is, however, that prices are going to vary. The biggest way to get the lowest price for an item is to use a coupon or discount program. If everyone in the world stopped using coupons then prices likely would come down a bit, but that's not reality.

I use them for whatever I can...it's great when they double them at the grocery store. I usually save almost half of what my grocery bill should be

no, you end up spending so much time cutting and sorting them that it ends up not being worth your time just to save 25 cents.
