Jody Shelley?
As a Blue Jackets fan, i was a little sad to see Jody Shelley get traded to San Jose. Then again, i was also happy to see some roster space made for someone else who can contribute a little more on the score board. Yes, i know he's an inspirational player, an emotional leader if you will, but thats not what the CBJ need. We need someone who will contribute on offense as well as be sound defensively. We have a lot of good young talent. Its about time we let them start to try and contribute.

Come on Adam, lets be realistic here. What do you think the Jackets need more, a tough, young talent that can score, or a tough guy who can't do much more than fight. Look, i love Jody Shelley. He's a great guy, but being a great guy will only buy you a nice hot cup of who gives a crap in the NHL. You need to produce.

I'm agreeing with you.
i wish they could have kept him in the front office, or moved him to Syracuse to work with young players. But in the past 2 months he was under-utilized and then Boll really started to come on and basically snared #45's spot.
Shelley is a fan favorite. I'm buying tix to the San Jose game and plan to join in the standing ovation when he takes the ice.

I think this was probably the best trade SJ could have made. They didn't sacrifice theri talent, and they got a ton of heart. If this trade works perfectly, maybe players like Marleau and Cheechoo will glean som eof the fire from Shelley and take their game up to level it should be at.

The Bluejackets need a tough guy. Why did they trade Shelly? They should try to aquire Darcy Tucker if he's available.

CBJ is waiting for Federov to drop off their salary cap. Next year it happens. They need a center for NASH, and will have the money to do it. JUST WAIT.
