What is that smell coming from behind the wall??

Yes it definitely could be a dead rodent of some sort in your walls... We had one and it stunk pretty bad for a while. We didn't want to tear out our ceiling so we just had to wait it out. Then it just went away cuz all of the flesh had rotted and been eaten away. So some poor mousey skeleten is in our ceiling now

Its possible that a squirrel got in between the walls, and died. Once they get in there and can't get out, they get scared, they crap and vommit all over everything and eventually they die; over time, the smell is horrendous, and the walls will eventually have to be removed cleaned out and replaced.

This happened to a co-worker of mine a few years back and the smell was sickening.

If there is a dead mouse, the smell will be like meat that was left if the refrigerator for a couple of months, that smell won't be like garlic.

Could be a dead mouse. I had a similar experience recently and threw out some old spices ( in the kitchen cabinet ) and it went away...I think it was some garlic that went bad.

in case you do not see it it may desire to be at the back of the wall's floor, or maybe decrease than the floor. First ask your self, what's on the different area of the wall, and what's decrease than the floor. My first guess would be ya, a dead mouse, I don't know if i would call the smell of carcass like garlic, but still i think that must be it.

If you live in apartment I knew a guy once that had some funky smell in his apartment and it ended up the guy next door had passed away.

but since the smell is localized i would think it's a mouse.

It could be a dead animal like a squirral. Cause We had one die behind our walls as well and It started out faint but got stronger to where it became unbearable to stay in the house!

Yeah, it sounds like something's dead. You might have to pull the cabinet out somehow. Good Luck!

Do Mice Like Garlic

I would say it might be a dead skunk. if you've ever been near a skunk when it has sprayed (as they do when they die) it smells like very very strong buring rubber, some have even described it as a overbearingly strong garlic smell. If its close enough, it may not even recognizably be skunk.

moth balls smell like garlic.is the house very old? maybe theres a human body inside the wall from years before from some mafia member who knows! but i got the same problem in my house.. it always smells like azz in here . i dont get where the smell is coming from
